Sony Will Seemingly Limit PS5 Sales To One Per Customer

If you were planning on nabbing both a regular and digital edition of the PS5, you might be out of luck if you’re buying from PlayStation directly. A tech-savvy ResetEra user noticed an error message found in Sony’s Direct page‘s code. The message is triggered when a user attempts to buy both a PS5 with a disc drive and an all-digital edition.

The same user also discovered some code hidden behind the public that points to players able to use PS4 controllers for the next-gen consoles. PSX Extreme has independently verified all the alleged code and they are indeed present.

It’s been a long-known issue that Sony would be a tad bit short when it comes to supply due to the whole COVID-19 thing. It was only recently they revealed they’re aiming to produce and distribute 10 million units by the end of the year.

What do you think? Does this limitation disappoint you? Tell us below!

so what is a “digital edition PS5”? is that a PC emulator version of the PS5 that you can buy so you dont have to buy an actual console?

I know it was a joke, but I made it more clear.

ahhh, ok cool, i see the corrections at first you had “PS5 with a disc” now you added the “drive” part. so what i am assuming is that there are 2 types of PS5 units 1 with a BLU-RAY Drive and 1 without and the 1 without will be for digital downloads only since technically both units will have disk drives in them, correct?

The regular PS5 will have a disc drive while the Digital Edition is strictly for games you can download. Sorry for the confusion.
