PlayStation Productions is apparently pivoting its anticipated Horizon TV show adaptation to the big screen instead.
Speaking to Variety, Asad Qizilbash, who leads PlayStation Productions, states that, as a TV show, it wasn’t “creatively going how we wanted to.” Similarly, Bethesda’s Todd Howard was in on the chat where he agreed on picking what is best for the idea; movie or TV show? Using Fallout as his example, people wanted to make a feature film rather than a TV show, but obviously the Amazon Prime show came out on top.
“Originally, a lot of people were approaching to do a feature film. And looking at what we wanted to do for this one, that felt too compressed. Fallout is such an amazing world — what would we really want to watch in it? Well, we’d like to watch the next story, or new stories in that world, as opposed to, again, in this instance, adapting a story we had told and kind of compressing it down. For this one, we were very much interested in telling new stories.”
What do you think? Would you rather a TV show or movie tied to Horizon? Let us know below!
Hmmm would I rather have a rushed 2 hour movie or a multi episode series that could have multiple seasons giving you AMPLE time to flesh out the story and characters? Such a haaarrrrddddd decision…
