Sony Banned Jonah Hill From Using PlayStation In Superbad

Superbad, which was co-financed by Sony Pictures, banned actor Jonah Hill from interacting with PlayStation products on-screen.

Actor and filmmaker Seth Rogan spoke on the red carpet (via VGC) at South By South West, answering a question about ridiculous requests from production studios. This is when he told the story of Hill’s character being “too vile.”

“On Superbad, we were told that Jonah Hill’s character, Seth, was so reprehensible to the studio that they were like, there’s a scene where they’re playing video games and (Sony) was like ‘Jonah can’t touch a PlayStation.’

They were like ‘we can’t have him interact with our products, because it’s too vile a character’ and I was like ‘it’s based on me, that’s very insulting’, but we accommodated them, ultimately.”

What do you think? Was this request weird or what? Let us know below!
