Full Circle, the developer behind the live service Skate that launched in Early Access last year is facing a round of layoffs. The number of affected people have not been shared.
The layoffs were announced in a post on the dev’s blog. The decision to cut jobs was due to the reshaping of Full Circle in order to better support Skate for the long-term.
The remaining team will “move faster, listen more closely, and deliver consistently” for the community. This coincidentally (or perhaps not so coincidentally) aligns with the recently revealed revamped tutorial map that’s planned to be locked behind a paywall.
“These shifts mean making changes to our team structure, and some roles will be impacted. The teammates affected are talented colleagues and friends who helped build the foundation of skate. Their creativity and dedication are deeply ingrained in what players experience today. This decision is not a reflection of their impact and we’re committed to supporting them through this transition.”
What do you think? Have you gotten around to playing Skate? If so, how do you like it? Let us know below!
