Square Enix is big on making announcements for announcements.
Last year, they essentially gave us a release date for a release date . Now, they're telling us when the publisher's next Active Time Report will arrive, thereby delivering more Final Fantasy XV details.
According to DualShockers , the publisher revealed the time of the next Report in a recent Japanese broadcast : Unsurprisingly, it'll come out alongside E3 2016 in June. The company didn't say what sort of news we can expect, but it's likely that FFXV director Hajime Tabata will appear in the broadcast, so he might have something interesting to say.
E3 2016 runs from June 14 through June 16, though we don't have an exact date or time for the impending Active Time Report. In a massive event at the end of last month, we got the worldwide launch date – September 30 – along with the announcement of several special editions (Square Enix has to make more of the in-demand Ultimate Editions ), and the arrival of a new playable demo and several slick trailers.

I do remember that, it as the biggest troll I'd ever seen.
I can't believe the car turns into a flying car like back to the future. Every time they plan to release new information on this game I get a little bit more sick.
They act like it's the totally greatest thing to ever happen to gaming already. Oversell much? And there are those special editions which we are meant to believe were made especially because they ran out.
If they don't announce FFXVI and show a full party on the screen including females that I'm controlling into battle with commands or a positive update on FFVII then I gives no cares.

Seriously add one female at least, I had no problem with the backstreet boys but to basically play a whole game as a boy band member is asking too much.Also yeah they are hyping this like it will bring world peace.
Again they are misreading western audiences in an attempt to appeal to them: with pure machismo attempting to emulate the movie "Predator" with its crew, that simply doesn't square with our androgynous friends in FF games.

i really find it hard to believe that there wont be a single woman as a playable character. if they seriously assume the new cid will suffice as an npc, then wtf are they smoking there?
There are female characters important to the story, who cares if you can't play as one. I prefer playing a male character but I didn't cry about Heavenly sword, Mirrors edge or Tomb raider not letting me play as a male.
FF13s cast is terrible and there females are no exception to this. Lightning imo is the worst FF character ever conceived, and Hope should have been locked in an orphanage cellar.
But SayWord speaks a lot of truth hear. You and Ben have both be overwhelmingly negative towards this game.
You have to realize WHY Square changed there marketing strategy, and in essence shifted to a more action based gameplay system. You and Ben do not seem to understand After FF7, each title in the series has sold less than the previous one. With the exception being the First FF game to release on a new console. Remember Square is a corporation first and care about quarterly earnings before anything else.
Here is a breakdown.
FF7 sold about 11 million in its lifetime, but was the first 3D FF game and was heavily marketed, and it had a demo disc demo.
FF8 sold 8 million which is a drop by about 25%
FF9 my personal favourite and arguably the best in the series sold a mere 5 million…thats another 25% loss.
FF10 comes out and spikes sales back up to something between 8-10 million, BUT only because it was the first FF on the PS2 and frankly the PS2s library at that time was severely lacking in JRPGs.
FF10 is a lot of peoples favourite, but it was already starting to shift away from the big open worlds that the PS1 games had.
FF10-2 sold world wide 5 million with the NA market being really really low. about 2 million in sales there.
FF12 probably my second favourite in terms of gameplay and customization sold LESS than FF10-2 world wide AND in NA.
FF13 again a new console FF game spiked sales up to about 8 million, with each sequel performing terribly.
Now does this mean they should have abandoned some of the turn based elements, in favour of an action based system? No I don't think so.
I think the decline in sales is a shift in the general gaming population, everyone has less time, and turn based battles loading in and out, can get both boring when fighting low level enemies and time consuming.
What they should have done is just made smaller budget games, with stylized graphics and stayed true to their roots.

Square was losing money and changed the gameplay hoping to fix it. Stop being so negative, hotdog, I love you.
My disdain for this bad turn has a lot to do with how much I loved what the franchise used to be (an RPG) but it isn't clouding anything. Yes I know how business works and I've only seen this level of disingenuousness with Destiny.
The flying car makes me sick because it's retarded. It's something we all did as little kids, we opened the doors and made it fly. Sorry, that's not an airship and this is not Michael Bay's Transformers. Don't you even recall the grandeur of the great air ships sweeping over the land or knocking off building tops?
Everything about the franchise has become base and cheap and cheesy. And now even the quality is going down if you look at those demos. No they weren't fun, they were boring and technical failures. If you want to say I was biased going into the Platinum demo then that's your prerogetive. As a grown man I know how to set my feeling aside and give things a chance. But let's say I was, at the time of the first demo I was not so adamantly disgusted and I went into Duscae with an open heart and clear eyes knowing full well that this was never going to be a turn based game and came out disturbed.
I think YOU are smarter than this Sayword, to treat something once a legendary RPG as just some action game that is good enough as long as it's "fun."
That's how I feel man, nothing personal against you (I hope you know I consider you a friend) or any other fans of this game, I just see this increasingly gross and wanton destruction of something that was once near perfect with every iteration and I feel ill. It is like watching a classic R rated masterpiece (I dunno, Robocop or something) remade into a PG-13 action extravaganza for people with nothing above a child's intelligence.

An RPG to me has always been more about the adventure not the combat system.
I had fun with the 2 demos and saw the potential they had when implemented into a full game.
I like turn based combat when it is done right, FF9 is still my favourite FF game.
I dunno, I still have faith the full version of FF15 will be good.
Im hope that failnix will sell the FF franchise….before they completely destroy it
