Come on, Rockstar. Just announce it. You know you want to.
Though it's not official, many assume the GTA developer is on the brink of announcing a new Red Dead title, and perhaps confirmation is fast approaching.
It seems the map from the Red Dead Redemption sequel was leaked online yesterday; it first appeared in the NeoGAF forums and the user was asked to take it down. But various sources managed to snag the pic before it disappeared and furthermore, Techradar claims "a source close to the development" of the new Western-themed game has actually confirmed that the map "is the real deal."
The map boasts the Great Plains and if fans of the original title remember, that's where the town of Blackwater was. You can also see some islands so maybe we'll get a boat this time around…? The general consensus is that the next RDR is actually a prequel, but it's interesting to note that the map shows New Bordeaux, which is the setting of the upcoming Mafia III , set to be published by Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive. Might there be some sort of tie-in?
Red Dead Redemption was undeniably one of the best games of the previous generation and certainly one of my favorites. Can't wait for RDR2.
