Pre-Orders Open March 22 For PlayStation VR Launch Bundle

Now that we have the date and the price , anticipatory gamers are champing at the bit. "When I can put my money down?!"

Well, as revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , we've got another important date: On Tuesday, March 22, pre-orders will open for the official Launch Bundle at participating retailers.

Available "exclusively for pre-sale and in limited quantities," this package offers everything you need to get started in the world of VR:

— PS VR headset
— PS VR cables
— Stereo Headphones
— PlayStation VR Demo Disc
— PlayStation Camera 2
— PlayStation Move motion controllers
— PlayStation VR Worlds (disc)

This bundle will be priced at $499, which sounds like a pretty solid deal, as the price for the unit by itself will be $399, we know you need the camera (normally priced at $59), and of course, you're getting a game, demo disc, and Move controllers. The bundle will also be available in Canada for $699.99 CAD but interestingly, the core bundle – featuring only the headset – will not be available to pre-order.

And yes, there are limited quantities but Sony says they'll roll out another round of pre-orders this summer. So if you still need to do some considering and thinking, feel free. But you'll be encouraged to know that one upcoming title has received lots of great reactions , and there are 160 games currently in development (50 of which are slated to release this year), though we remind you that the quality of these games is absolutely paramount …
