Street Fighter V is an oft-discussed new title among fighting fans; one of the common topics is the size and variety of the roster.
Some say it's not especially impressive but don't forget that Capcom plans to add more fighters down the road. In fact, one is coming in this month's update: Alex.
As revealed at the Capcom Unity blog , Alex will join the roster in the game's next update. Veteran fans might remember his first appearance in Street Fighter III back in 1997; said the developers in a press release:
"In Street Fighter V, Alex returns as a powerful grappler that can inflict big damage with his close range Power Bomb command grab and his long limbs to fight from midrange distances. The threat doesn't end there however, as Alex has a variety of special attacks that can cover a large portion of the screen for those times when the opponent keeps him out.
Players looking for a methodical grappler who can do big burst damage up close, yet still do well at midrange, will find themselves perfectly at home with Alex."
Alex's abilities include Overhaul (V-Skill) and Rage Shift (V-Trigger), along with a devastating charge-able clothesline attack. You can unlock him for free simply by playing the game, or you can spend real-life cash to unlock Alex immediately (no pricing has been announced). The big March update also includes a new Challenge Mode, the in-game shop that was missing at launch, and the option to instantly start a rematch. Then there are some bug fixes and character balances; click through the blog link above if you're interested.
Later, Capcom will add Guile, Balrog, Ibuki, Juri and Urien, and don't forget about the "free, expanded Story Mode" coming in June. Lastly, though the official Alex trailer hasn't arrived yet, you can get a peek at him here:

Ugh, another grappler. And no Sakura or Sagat? Bummer. At least we get Guile.

Agreed! Would love to see Sagat, Sakura. As well as Akuma and Evil Ryu
Street Fighter V: WWF Edition.
Keep 'em coming. More stages please.
Phew. Basically lost all my matches tonight!
That's coming off of basically winning them all the night before.
YOu know, if they would just keep putting out a new fighter, say every month or so, this might not be so bad. Well, that is if every single new fighter they bring out is new, different, and completely set up for their own unique fighting style. I would pay a buck or 2 for them.
V-System should definitely under the Advanced. No newcomer is going to know how to utilise it properly apart from having the randomness be effective. There's quite a few aspects to it, don't confuse them while teaching how/when to press the basic buttons.
EXCITED.
