All I can say is, "It's about damn time!"
Resident Evil is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. I've played all the main games of the franchise (Resident Evil 1-6, including Code Veronica), and also some of its spin-off games (the Revelation games). Since then, I've been eagerly waiting for the next main game on the franchise, which is supposedly Resident Evil 7.
According to Yibada , the closest that fans can hear about Resident Evil 7 would be by June of this year, in the anticipated E3 event. Rumors claim that there will be an official announcement of the game on the said event, but Capcom has not revealed anything heavy enough to back up the statement. So far, the Resident Evil franchise still keeps the ball in the hands of the latest spin-off shooter, Resident Evil Umbrella Corps which is set to release on May 2016.
Meanwhile, observers are also saying that "Resident Evil 7" will get a proper treatment and will go back to its horror survival roots, with a captivating story as the focus. According to Movie Pilot , the development team listened to fan feedback on "Resident Evil 6" and then checked out what changes they can make to make "Resident Evil 7" as interesting as possible to players.
If Capcom can insert more survival horror element in Resident Evil 7, I think it will make the audience more happy. Here's hoping that Leon and Ada will be included as one of the main characters of the game as they are my favorite characters in the franchise. Well, that's just me.

To be honest I'm more excited about RE2 Remake then this. As a huge "classic" RE fan, I stopped playing after finishing RE5 – the story went south, characters were not interesting, not scary; it was only RE from the title (it was a good action game though!).
Now, if they would AT LEAST get the atmosphere from RE4 but with zobies back and bring SURVIVOR back to the gameplay, less action shooting, it could work. Also, bring back puzzles, searching for keys, item-boxes. The classic camera would be topping on the cake for me:)
Until then, I'm enjoying myself with RE0. Platinum is near:)
Yep,i'm also way more interested for the RE2 remake[hoping for a true survival horror and not an action game in a horror setting].After Fallout 4, RE0 will be next.
Hopefully its better than the last few. I want it to be more survival horror than crazy action.

I love Revelations 2 so far. I wish I had more time to give to it so I can actually finish. Resi 6 made me kinda wanna throw up in my mouth buuuuut as an experienced gamer I could see what they were trying to do.
If they get it right then great I'll be back in, same as with Final Fantasy… after XV.
Eww the trailer direction looks like one of those awful RE movies, hope I'm wrong on this, plus I love Leon (the only thing I liked on the trailer) but I hope they put Jill there, want to see her next gen.

Nice attention to detail. When he started loading the rounds into the mag I noticed the painted tip and thought, "tracer rounds?" Sure enough.
They need to do a complete 180 from what 6 was. That's the only one in the franchise I started and completely gave up on because it was just so terrible. I haven't really start Revelations 2. I did enjoy the first Revelations game so maybe they're learning.

Just so everyone knows, the trailer posted in the article is a deliberate troll attempt. The uploader says so himself lol
Leon and Ada are my favourite characters too 😀
Lol , yup, it says troll under the PS logo.
Its from that cgi resi movie they did a while ago.
Ive only played 5 & 6 and though 5 was a fantastic coop game,I enjoyed the hell out of that game.I played 6 but didnt get past the train part because it was such a boring piece of shit,I think that was the worst game I played last gen.
