It almost seems inevitable that 2016's explosion of virtual reality entertainment will result in the rise of adult-oriented games designed specifically for VR. I mean, such a thing is tailor-made for the porn industry, right?
I still remember working at Electronics Boutique back in the late '90s, and there was always that super dusty Playboy game in the PC section. Eventually, we just moved it to the top, where nothing can be reached without a ladder, and there it lived out its days until it was finally shipped away in a box of other unwanted inventory. Leisure Suit Larry games didn't fare much better, let me tell you.
While digital porn skyrocketed, interactive adult entertainment didn't really do much. Now, however, perhaps the time has come for that multi-billion dollar industry to reinvest big time in games. With Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, HTC Vice and Google Cardboard, 2016 is shaping up to be the year for next-level virtual reality entertainment. And if the porn peeps don't get their greedy grimy little paws into it in some fashion, I'll be shocked. Let's face it, there are still plenty of sexually repressed, socially stunted teens out there that need another reason to stay home…or something like that.
But anyway, I'm willing to bet that the first adult VR games are already in development, and we'll see them sooner rather than later.
Nothing wrong with porn. The faster we all embrace it and stop behaving immature about it, the better.
Most people watch it, do stuff while watching it and are to release some tension (no pun intended) so if VR devices will enhance the experience the curious cat will definitely take the bait.
yeah I don't get the idea in the article that it's these horrible grimy immature and socially stunted people that need adult entertainment because they can't get real women. The fact is few real women, and fewer attractive ones, will do everything males want them to do. It's about fantasies and a fantasy life away from real life, just like video games but involving our basest instinct.
It's super important to be cognizant about where it comes from though. There's trillions of dollars in human trafficking attached to the porn industry.

If someone can't get some, they'll find a way to er.. get off. VR obviously could be an entire new realm for that albeit creepy as hell.
My thing is, if you can't get a real woman to do it for you, don't bother. Though Lara croft in VR…

The new crop of Japanese sex simulation games already support it so yeah I think it's gonna be a decently successful niche but probably not an explosion due to the barriers unless you're a hardcore masturbator.
Sadly we can't even get covered sexy ladies on PS4 so it won't come home for consoles.
You'd think by now there were enough real women on the internet taking off their clothes to sate you, to the point that you weren't clamoring for pixelated ones in videogames all the time.
I have real life 3D ones too (which I don't pay for!). Being a connoisseur of the female form and all it offers I love it in all dimensions. And if I don't clamor then who will? Most people are made to feel embarrassed to enjoy 2D boobs, yet due to my security nothing embarrasses me so it's kinda up to me.
I'm sometimes embarrassed about my man boobs. I don't really manscape my hairy chest at all.
I had a spat with weight once (lost 60 pounds) and lemme tell ya the man boobs look worse when hairless.
Then I shall bare the bear proudly!

I've been in healthy sexual relationships my whole life. As someone who is very sexually active, I love the female form in all sorts of shapes and sizes, including virtual girls and art.
Please tell me what is wrong with enjoying porn or virtual ladies? Even being in a relationship doesn't mean you can partake with your significant other all the time. What is better?
