Developer Platinum Games is still silent but we can't wait to hear about their new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title.
Supposedly in development at the Bayonetta studio, the new TMNT was outed last year thanks to the Australian Classification Board and now, it seems we can take a peek at the game's Achievements at this site (and as the Trophies will undoubtedly be the same, it should appeal to PlayStation fans as well).
Nothing here has been officially announced but I'm willing to bet those Achievements are real. We see some for nabbing a certain number of collectibles and destroying particular objects in the environment, and even a few for traveling a set distance. We still have no idea what this game will look like but some concept art has leaked on Twitter :
It also seems as if stealth might factor in, as one Achievement involves not being spotted for an entire stage. Of course, these turtles are supposed to be ninjas so it would make sense, but when have we ever used stealth in a TMNT video game? For that matter, when's the last time Platinum used stealth for anything?
Very intriguing, no? And by the way, the apaprent title for the new adventure is "Mutants in Manhattan."
Love me some turtles, Platinum could seriously erase some of the Out of the Shadows shame. And aside from Megan Fox never being worthy of being April O'neal that Michael Bay movie was pretty damn good.
I'm hoping this is good. I love me some ninja turtles and I hope that this is something worth spending money on.
There hasn't been a good turtles game in a while.
I loved TMNT as a kid. I even had a "sewer system", which was kinda like a TMNT version of a doll house, a pizza thrower that shot out plastic discs with picture of pizza toppings on the top (and underneath said "Do not shoot at animals"), a bunch of action figures, all the NES TMNT games, and I went out as a turtle for Halloween once.
I also remember beating Turtles in Time in an arcade with my dad. Good times!
