If you were a music fan and a PS2 owner, chances are, you owned Amplitude .
It was one of the most unique and addictive games of the entire generation in my estimation, and a definite improvement over the predecessor, Frequency .
Now, developer Harmonix is bringing an updated Amplitude to PlayStation 4 and after a delay , we've got the new release date as announced over at the PlayStation Blog : January 5, 2016. That's when it'll be available on the PlayStation Store and for those who remember the original with particular fondness, it's a must-buy. They also confirmed that they've added a brand new FreQ Mode, which turns on the tunnel gameplay style we saw in Frequency .
Plus, just about everything else is bigger and better. They've made it easier to "streak" via fresh controls and better messaging, power-ups are now easier to snag, and they've composed a special in-house custom soundtrack. Lastly, they added that mode that will make any party complete: Team Play! That will support 2-on-2, 1-on-2 and 1-on-3 matches; check out some gameplay here .
Can't wait for this one!
