2016 should be a great year for fighting fanatics who also happen to own a PlayStation 4.
Not only should they get Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 , but they should also receive King of Fighters XIV . Sadly, the new entry is only confirmed for a January release in Japan but perhaps it'll come stateside later.
At any rate, developer SNK Playmore has tossed up a new trailer for the anticipated new battling entry; it features the return of the Ikari Warrior Leona and the steel ball-wielding Chang Koehan. King of Fighters XIV was originally unveiled at this year's Tokyo Game Show and it will feature new 3D assets, despite having the same side-on viewpoint.
If you're wondering, the last game – King of Fighters XIII – released only on Xbox 360 and PC, while this new one is only confirmed for PS4. Not sure if that means KOF14 is an exclusive but maybe it is…
Related Game(s): King of Fighters XIV
KOF 13 was on the PS3 I have it 😉 It was released on Steam much much later.
As for KoF 14 I wish they stuck with the high quality sprites they had in KoF 12 and 13, but this doesn't look to bad, the first teaser had me worried.
It doesn't look too bad… but it doesn't look as good as previous 2D-only entires either 🙁 … I think some of the detail and the charm of sprite animation is lost here .. . -_-
I think the 3D would work better if they stylized it more. Making it look less like generic CG graphics. Right now they look like they're made of plastic.

Maybe they will get enough complaints and fix it. All the youtube videos have negative comments and likes.
Its not that it is 3D and doesn't suite the game, it is that the 3D looks very amateur, where as there sprites were some of the best.
