Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is easily one of the best games of 2015 and clearly, the consumers have responded.
As part of Konami's first-half financial results , the publisher confirmed that five million copies of MGSV have been shipped since its launch in September. This has helped the company double their six-month profits. Overall, Konami's Digital Entertainment division pulled in ¥51.7 billion, up from ¥44 billion a year ago. Operating profit rose from ¥7.4 billion to ¥12.7 billion as well, and net profit rose from ¥3.9 billion to ¥7.8 billion.
Despite this, there's still evidence that Konami is moving away from big-budget AAA projects and trying to focus more on mobile.

MGSV preformed quite a bit better than MGS4 then. If Vgchartz is even remotely accurate, the first 10 weeks of MGS4 brought in about 3.3 million unit sales.
Edit: if you calculate about a 45 dollar take for each unit sold into retail that makes up $225,000,000 for Konami in MGSV revenue. We haven't even made it through the new year yet.

It should since mgsv is multi plat now
MGS was never truly PlayStation exclusive. Only MGS4.
And yet they don't want to make more AAA games..Would be cool see a new version of the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid Snake games.
They've already stated that accusation wasn't true. They're in fact in talks about developing MGS6.

And the shisters were complaining about Kojima's $80,000,000 budget. They will make MGS6. Question is will they be able to negotiate a new contact with Kojima? I know he was supposed to have parted from Konami but so far they're claiming he's just on a holiday.

Although would he want to come back after they removed his logo from the box art of the game and cancelled Silent Hills.
they'll work something out. Kojima will do another MGS.
Since when do we count shiped as sold -Rollseyes-
LOL, AC syndicate is the second worst selling AC game.
I've been playing MGS5 sine August and with nearly 200 hours in it, I must say that it's not the best in the series. The game was definitely rushed and could have been better. The jungle area in the game could have been more immersive and complex. Going back to Snake Eater and Guns of The Patriots, the jungle areas were to die for.
+ Disappointed mission 51 never made it into the game.
