Sony wants to know: How would you continue to improve the PlayStation 4?
As per a NeoGAF user , Sony has sent a survey to PS4 owners asking them about new features they might want to see in the future.
Included in the survey are common topics of discussion among PlayStation fans; for example, Sony asks if you want to be able to change a PSN ID, if you'd like to see custom backgrounds, and whether or not you could use a Hide or Completely Remove Item From Library option. One of the questions asks about an already-confirmed new feature, the PlayStation Store wishlist .
Perhaps most interesting are the questions asking about more PS1 and PS2 classics. This could be to gauge consumer interest in more re-releases. Lastly, the survey asks the participant when he or she expects to see the next major update for the console; the earliest option is "before the end of 2015" and the latest is "2017 or later."
If you haven't seen the survey yet, you might some time soon…
A change I like Sony to make, would be to stop throttling my internet connection. I have 1 ps4 & 2 ps3s, and a roommate has a ps4, every single device is getting right about the same speed. However every other device my house gets up to 7 to 8 times faster internet connection than the ps3's and ps4's. I don't know if it has to do with throttling like I suspect, or if this is just crappy modems. Regardless Sony really needs to get this fixed.
Yeah, even when my ps4 is wired, it is slower than my iPhone and laptop that's connected wirelessly. I think the internal internet chip or whatever is just very cheap, so I suspect a hardware problem rather than software. Of course, I could be wrong.
They aren't throttling anything. Their server speed just isn't great.
I am up for them increasing it, though, as sometimes even their videos on the PS Store have to buffer a little too often.
I couldn't watch the Star Wars trailer without buffering every 5 seconds or so. Super annoying. Rest of my house gets more than enough speed. So it isn't me.
same way faster on my computer and laptops
I'm of two minds about them asking about the PS1/2 features. I'm all for having them.(Yay) but on the other hand if its just to gauge interest on whether to put these games in the playstation now store for rentals.. then.. ugh.
I wish sony would have adopted backwards compatibility like MS did. Its really the only reason i keep my fatty PS3 around (BWC PS1/2/3) and maintained.
I don't have a PS4 yet, so I don't know if these have been implicated on the new consoles
But on my PS3, even though you're supposed to be able to list your game alphabetically, some games refuse to go where they're supposed to(for example: why is Prototype 1&2 right atop of all my "A" lettered games????
Also, I want to delete all the games & demo's I've sampled from the PSstore that went right to my trophy list.
And I'd like to delete over a 1000 demos, vids, Apps, & other stuff on my D/L transaction list that I no longer want or need, but keeps hogging up my searches for the older stuff that I want to put on my newer PS3 Super Slim
It's pretty insane that they still haven't fixed these issues in all these years…
I just want a way to hide that I'm online…like the ps3 had. It seems so basic and necessary that it's surprising it wasn't included at launch.
I only have about 100+ friends, but they have been on my friends list since the ps3 days and I used to play regularly with the vast majority of them, but now that I have a family and work responsibilities, it makes it so that most days I don't want to deal with being bombarded with dozens of invites everytime I watch netflix or play a game.
