Not sure which version of Assassin's Creed Syndicate to get?
Digital Foundry is here to help, as usual. And according to their analysis, the PlayStation 4 version of the latest Ubisoft blockbuster edges out the Xbox One version. It's also much more stable when compared to last year's Unity , which launched with lots of bugs.
The team first marks the resolution, as both the PS4 and Xbox One versions boast 900p visuals, and then notes the "genuine improvement" in performance:
"Assassin's Creed Syndicate shows genuine improvement here. In Unity, we could see extended periods of gameplay where the 30fps target was nowhere in sight. Its successor shows huge improvement on both platforms, but it's clear that the PlayStation 4 takes pole position.
Rapid traversal through environments can hit performance on both systems, but where the Microsoft box dips into the high 20s, PS4 has a better lock on its 30fps target. And when the Sony console dips to the 27fps area, Xbox One is a couple of fps further off the pace."
Digital Foundry isn't completely done with their analysis but they do say the game offers a "like-for-like" visual experience across the two platforms in question, and the bugs are "substantially reduced" when compared to last year's AC adventure.
It's interesting to see the critics respond to the game, though, as reviews for Assassin's Creed Syndicate run the gamut from 4 to 9 .
well duhhh 🙂
yeah what else is new. Can't believe that piece of old trash gets Tomb Raider.
One of the un-wisest decisions that Squenix made, imho.
That's great to read however it's not surprising. So far I am loving ACS! I adored Unity and it is so far better.
