Yes, obviously, not everyone is willing to spring for a new video game system for the sake of only one game.
At the same time, you will find a great many people who will admit to buying another console at some point in their lives for the express purpose of one game (even if that game isn't out yet). So, in the spirit of good game discussion, and assuming that just about everyone here already has a PlayStation 4, is there one exclusive title – real or fictional – that could make you spring for an Xbox One or Wii U?
I know some Nintendo fans who say they'd get a Wii U tomorrow if they thought they were getting another Perfect Dark , for example. Me, I've said in the past that if they ever came out with a Lost Odyssey sequel that was again exclusive to Xbox, I'd get the Xbox One immediately. That was some time ago, though, and now that I know a Lost Odyssey 2 would probably be just some action slash-fest, I likely wouldn't be interested.
But I think I've got one: Deathrow 2 . If done correctly, that would be bad-ass and I would indeed seriously consider getting an Xbox One. It's too bad that not enough gamers even knew about the original Deathrow on the first Xbox, because it was pretty much the only original title that system had for a while. And man was it fun. Who's with me?
Street Fighter V
But I already have that console. Woo Hoo!

Also on Microsoft Windows Pc… XD
Honestly, I'd say that the Wii U has plenty of titles already that make it very appealing to own, got your Super Mario games( World/Kart/Maker ), Super Smash, Hyrule Warriors, and quite a few more. Not to mention the games that are coming down the pipe line look very promising. I would say without a doubt that the Wii U has the BEST exclusive titles atm.
The Xbox on the other hand, well I don't really know, never really enjoyed any of their exclusive titles… so I guess my answer would be nothing could really persuade me to buy it.
But lets ask, what does the PS4 really have to make it a must buy? it's the more powerful piece of tech compared to the other two, of course it's nothing compared to a decent PC mind you. Game wise, is there really any exclusive titles that really jump off the page?
Yes. Remasters of The Last of Us and Uncharted Collection alone make the $350 price tag worth it. Then Uncharted 4 is coming soon.
Until Dawn isnt bad either.
I second those games that Mr. Nynja mentioned.
Bloodborne is another on my list.
A new Zelda might make me take the dive on the next Ninty system. It helps that I have a 4-year old and another on the way. I'm sure they'll be demanding it anyways…
Lets leave out remasters, they aren't new games , and not exclusive to the PS4 if they were originally on the PS3.
So far I'm just seeing blatant clones of other games.
Oh man i always wanted WiiU to play Splatoon…
If you have a decent PC then you don't need a Wii U as the emulator is coming along nicely 🙂
PS4
Disgaea5! Bloodborne! Street Fighter! Infamous! Killzone 😀 little big planet plus all the goodies of PS plus, the community, the trophies!
And the fact that ALL multiplat games run best on it quality/price wise.
Also well gaming on pc isn't the same. I do have a 5k alienware laptop 18inch screen and it is also hooked to a 55inch TV when I want to sit and play a game with controller but the difference isnt that huge plus games tend to be more stable on consoles. I also prefer the community and service provided. Basically consoles are there 99% for gaming while PC is plagued with more issues and stuff to fix to optimise your game. Not saying I don't do it. I do tweek my games on PC but I don't know. I think Sony really nailed it with the PS4 so far for a great quality/price system that doesn't even make me miss the PC XD One game that reflects my thoughts is Batman Arkham Knight. Remember it was even removed from PC because of all the bugs XD or games like Diablo 3 or Sim City. Only on PC will they release totally broken games. It just feels like they don't car emuch for it.
@ Hexen, nobody is talking about pirating games here man, believe it or not some of us love games and wish to support devs.
@ Neo, I'll be honest, I've never played or heard anything about the Disgaea series, so I can't comment on that, but I have heard of the others… So again, Bloodborne is just a Dark Souls clone, you can get that experience everywhere else. Street fighter isn't out right now, but a good point for something down the road, Infamous SS was a launch title, only heard meh things about it, I heard KZ was just flat out bad, and LBG is a good point, even if it's for a very niche audience.
Also, I will say that PS Plus doesn't factor in, in fact if you were to it would hurt your case since it's another subscription you've gotta pay for unlike PC, and it really is just forced upon everyone if you want to play online, back with the PS3 when it wasn't needed to play online, very few people had it, cause it was trash, imo.
This was a discussion about games, not problems with the platform. But you've also gotta keep in mind that some of the bad ports to PC were because of the PS3's limitations and coding issues, and bad publishers aside, WB for Arkham night ( though they took this down right away, thanks steam refunds! ), or EA…. who just suck in just about everything they do no matter the platform, I think they should be making these games ( if they aren't already ) on PC and porting down to the lesser consoles, cause lets face it, atm the PS4 and xbox are just older computers.
@Pheonix
My reasons to own a PS4:
Samurai Warriors 4
The Order: 1886
Bloodborne
Toukiden: Kiwami
J-STARS Victory Vs+
Onechanbara Z2: Chaos
Until Dawn
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
inFamous: Second Son
The Last of Us Remaster
Killzone Shadow Fall
Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment
Sword Art Online Lost Song
Knack
By the way, not all games I listed will interest you, but the truth is people don't buy games based on only your interest. Bloodborne is not a clone of Dark Souls. They play completely different. If you have such a problem with playing clone games, I guess you shouldn't play Dark Souls because it's just a clone of Demon Souls or Uncharted because it's a Tomb Raider clone or Gears of War because it's a Kill Switch clone.
You must miss out on a lot of great games with that piss-poor thought process. Keeping hating, man.

Just to interject for a moment:
It's inaccurate to call Bloodborne a "Dark Souls clone." The gameplay is distinctly different, in that Bloodborne leans more on the action side in many ways (fighting far more enemies at once, heavier reliance on combos and type of weapon, etc). I know both are similar in terms of tone and structure but how you play each is very different, IMO.
@ Evil , Can you REALLY say those games are system sellers? if possible try not to lie to yourself about that question. To me, that's a big no, most of the good games you've listed are remasters, which really don't count since.. well the game isn't exclusive to PS4. I never made the argument that if I don't like the game it can't be good, so I'm not sure where you got that nonsense from, but as you said " keep hating, man "
@ Ben, Both games are VERY close to each other, to the point where I'd say the line is beyond blurred, hence why I'd consider it a clone. I will agree the combat has slight differences that try to set it apart from DS, I guess I just don't think it's enough.
@Phoenix
DOOD that logic is crazy. Going by that means you will play very few games in your life lol. Ex: Bloodborne might be similar but it's a whole new game with new weapons new bosses new story new balancing new pace. If you like a *genre* it's only natural to get a new system because the latest game of a series you like came out on it. Going by what you say you could be stuck with like 10 games in your library for every *type* and every time a new shooter or adventure game comes out you'd be like: platforming? Men just a clone of Mario that I bought 20 years ago! Not wasting time! Lol that's such a shame you are missing on great titles 🙁
@Phoenix
"Can you REALLY say those games are system sellers? if possible try not to lie to yourself about that question. To me, that's a big no, most of the good games you've listed are remasters, which really don't count since.. well the game isn't exclusive to PS4."
Again, people don't buy games that only interest you.
Four of the fifteen games I listed are remasters. Are these fifteen games system sellers? I bought the system for these games. It wasn't just one of these games that sold me on the system but the accumulation of the titles did. I can only speak for myself not other people. There are a lot of people that didn't own a PS3 last gen so, those remastered games are probably system sellers for them. By the way, any game exclusive to PlayStation is an exclusive no matter if it's on other PlayStation platforms. The PS4 games perform better in visuals and performance which makes the game more attractive on the PS4 platform. The fact that the PS4 has the best versions of third-party games is a system seller as well. But, if you want to keep telling yourself nonsense, go ahead. No one believes the crap you're spewing but you.

@ Neo
Ah man, I'm a pretty hardcore gamer, having well over 400 games in my collection spanning from NES era to current day, the point that I'm trying to get across is simply that I really don't think the PS4 has a system seller.
I know coming into a PS site and saying this is asking for the reactions of those like Evil, but there it is man. This is not to say I hate PS, I doubt you could have found a bigger fan of the PS1/2, but the last gen and this current gen of PS has been… well disappointing to say the least in my eyes, and it's not to say that this is Sony's fault, but overall the quality of games on the PS has fallen drastically. What is Sony's fault is the problems I have with the PS4, i.e no BC ( I know some dont care about this point ), having to pay to get online when PS3 was free ( did they ever give a decent reason for this other than more money? ), the current price isn't great ( I'm in Canada ), and apart from DQX I don't have any interest in any other game on the console. The Question that was brought up was , what one game could sell you on the Wii/Xbox, I figured since it wasn't asked, I'd ask it about the PS4.
Now, I didn't say Bloodborne was a bad game. I get that it's the genre of game so it should have SOME similarities, it's even made by the same group, but I still think it's far too close to DS series, I'd go as far as to say you'd have to be blind not to see this. So my reasoning for saying it's not a system seller is that you can get the overall experience from BB in other games, i.e DS1/2 elsewhere.
@Phoenix
Do you even have a PS4, because it really sounds as though you don't?
So how can you judge all these games like you do?
O gawds, another neo!
Anyways no, I don't own a PS4…. this has been made clear several times, lol.
Sry, didn't complete my last comment, anyways while I don't own a ps4, I have played some of the games brought up. Also just historically if you look at games that move systems off the shelves, and compare those to what the PS4 has, you'll clearly see that it is lacking one. At this point and time, I'd say the sales for the PS4 are mostly due to brand recognition , hype, and/or the pressure of upgrade of get left behind.
Again this isn't to say that this is the case for everyone, I'm sure some bought in because of a lunch game, but lets face it, there is no Behemoth game to move it right now.
I would agree that there's no "behemoth" game to move PS4, as I assume you mean a new entry in an established Sony franchise (Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, etc.), and the Killzone installment at launch is very much in the past, and doesn't really hold up today. And a few of the great exclusives we do have, like Disgaea 5, are quite niche.
It's no secret that exclusives have been somewhat lacking on PS4 so far, but we all know they're coming. And games like Bloodborne really are very special to lots of people, and I do know a few who bought a PS4 for that game. Yes, they were Dark Souls fans but again, I maintain that you simply don't play the games the same way. I really can't stand Dark Souls but I might've actually suffered through Bloodborne; hence, the differences.
Even so, how can you not own a PS4 right now? I can't imagine just being stuck with one of the old consoles. I mean, forget about exclusives; there have been excellent multiplats, not to mention lots of remasters and remakes that are just so much better on PS4.
I do most of my games on PC these days honestly, though I have a Wii U, love me some Mario/SSB/Hyrule Warriors, and I'm dyin for the new Zelda… whenever that comes out. So I do get the multi plats, plus the benefit of better graphics on PC.
And when I said behemoth title, I didn't mean it had to be from an established franchise, though they do tend to help sell consoles, but I'm sure in time we'll see them on the PS4, followed with a sale spike. So apart from having no games I'm interested in atm , the lack of BC, having to pay a sub to play online, and the price keep me from having a desire to own the machine.
Hold on just a second — I have over 200 hours in Demon, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 and about 70 hours in Bloodborne and I can tell you that Bloodborne is not a clone. As Ben previously stated — they are similar in tone and a few other things but as someone who has played all of them I can tell you they are very different.
Heck if they were clone I would have enjoyed Bloodborne more than I did and at the same time there are other Soul fans that enjoyed Bloodborne more than any Souls game. You have to be careful saying such things.
So.. all those Nintendo titles like Mario, Zelda etc are _not_ clones, but Bloodborne is?? lol
What exactly are they cloning? themselves? better luck next time champ.
Well, Mario games are certainly clones of each other, but Mario is hardly a clone of Zelda or Metroid or whatever.
And I suppose if you're doing most of your gaming on PC and you're not interested in the more niche exclusives out on PS4, there isn't that much reason to own the system. I still think you're missing out with some of the remasters and remakes, though, like the Uncharted Collection and The Last Of Us: Remastered and the God of War Collection and all that.
Well I wouldn't call them a clone of each other, like all the Mario games have a unique feel, different controls, usually a different world or planets, enemies, power ups, physics, etc. The only main Mario game ( the platforming kind ) that was literally a clone was Super Mario Bros 2, just being a clone of doki doki panic, but that was a very strange case, read up on the history if you don't know it.
Well, I will agree that I am missing out on some titles, like Disgaea/Dragon Quest ( god DQ VIII was great ) games, I never had any interest in the Uncharted or GoW franchises, and I own TLoU on PS3. I'm sure down the road there will be titles that I will want to own and I'll bite the bullet ( with any luck it'll be cheaper by then ), but for the time being it just doesn't have enough, and is very much in the negative with the other problems I mentioned about the PS4.
I'm not saying the PS4 is bad, it just has too many negatives right now imo, mostly not having a system selling game, again imo. If you like KZ, LBP, Bloodborne, or the remasters and think that's good enough than I'm happy for you, this is me just bringing in the PS4 into the question presented by this article.
I don't care what taste in games you have but you're clearly a hypocrite, whether you like Mario or Bloodborne or Uncharted is besides the point.
On one hand, you blame Bloodborne for being a clone because it's too similar to the Souls games, but somehow you don't think the Mario games are clones because… well they have different powerups & enemies! wow, what insight! How stupid of me, well then of course they're COMPLETELY different! Oh and somehow they can't even be clones because they're cloning themselves?? So as long as they keep the same name for 20 games straight then it's OK with your logic? Yey what a genius we got here!
Such a gentlemanly discussion until Crabba dialed in. :'(
If they came out with Fable 4 and it was good that would do it.
Gears. Its the only exclusive I can't find on PC that I want to play.
The original Gears of War, and Gears of War Remastered, is/will be on PC.
Anything that comes out on xbox one will be on pc, including "exclusives". So it has made itself useless.
I have Xbox one and let me tell you Forza Horizon 2, Forza 6 and sunset overdrive is worth buying the Xbox one…
I bought an xbox one but have none of those games, they just don't interest me, probably coz i'm more into gran turismo, probably be getting Halo 5 Guardians
I can't think of a single one on Xbone.
Neither system has anything that i am aware of that could get me to buy them.
I even hold grudges against the companies that have taken to putting their franchises mostly on handheld systems, Atlus i'm looking at you for doing that to the Persona series.
Dead Rising 3 and Forza got me to get an Xbone. Mario Kart and Mario 3D World got me to get a WIIU and they are awesome. Gears is one to get for the Xbone of course, and Zelda for the WIIU, but I'm happy with both of those systems so far. Nothing touches the PS4 of course, but I'm happy with the other ones as alternatives when time somehow allows.
If all the games that were announced during TGS were magically moved to Xbox then I would definitely get it.I'm just keeping the wiiu games to play them on my PC with a "Real"controller, not that terrible game pad that loses connecting as soon as I enter my bathroom, horrible network, vomit inducing UI,etc.I honestly Don't know what Jawknee and the other fanboys see in the thing 😉
Was going to get Xbox One for Halo 5. But no split screen XD So yeah not going to buy it anymore 🙁
Wii U already owned for Smash, Mario Kart. All other games I don't care much.
PS4 for all exclusives plus all multiplat games.
PC for some steam crazy sales lol
If a new Fire Emblem was Wii U only, then I would get one immediately.
Lost odyssey 2 for sure if it s still turn based .Hell , pretty much any turn base rpg would do .
That or a friend of mine get one too along Killer instinct .
I ll probably buy one next year tho . Plenty of exclusive games on the ONE i want to play eventually . Games like Ki i mentioned , sunset overdrive , gears of war 4 , dead rising 3 and the upcoming Quantum break .
Just remembered a game that might just do it ( make me buy a ONE instantly ) . That game is Ashen . Just more info to go along the awesome trailer .

I think any Zelda that comes out for Wii U is worth more than any X-Box One game.
I think the Wii U has a lot of attractive games that interest me. Plus my daughter, wife, and I love to sit and play Super Mario Bros. That's why I'll be buying one in November or December.

Well my son recently told me he wants an Xbox One for Christmas so he can play Halo 5. Whether or not Santa finds that to be a reasonable justification for buying another console is yet to be determined.
Wii U:
Side scrolling Metroid!
Contra
Legend of Zelda
Not much else would convince me.
Nothing really..Halo was my reason to get a 360 but Halo 5 doesn't seem to interest me. Not sure what could get me to buy X1 if anything
For me, it's Forza Horizon 2. However it's more about having the money to afford the PS3 & 4 games coming my way or already on the market (Yakuza 5, Tales of Zestiria, Until Dawn) than it is about considering an Xbox One because I haven't thought of playing any games on it.
My PS3 and 360 are close to my heart so I am getting an Xbox One. It was always my intention. But my intention was to get a PS4 first 😛 so until the time is right, an Xbox One is secondary to my gaming experience.
Another Wii U Monster Hunter.
If I was given a wii u I would buy Mario maker for it because of its concept not because its a Mario game. Other than that I wouldn't want to buy a wii u. I say the only game that would make me splash out on a xone would be if mass effect 4 was an exclusive. I couldn't miss that installment after loving the first 3 with passion
I got the X1 because Sunset Overdrive, I'm waiting for the next Gears and Quantum Break
