Not long after announcing the Hitman delay , publisher Square Enix has announced the official launch date.
IO Interactive's latest effort releases on March 11, 2016 and this package will feature the "initial launch content," which boasts the Paris, Sapienza, and Marrakesh locations along with six campaign missions. All missions will be replayable through the user-created Contracts missions as well.
After this launch (which was delayed so IO could give us more content out of the gate, remember), the developers will start releasing more stuff. This will include "time-limited targets, weekly IO developed Contracts, and promoted content built by the very best of you out there." Expect to see one sandbox location each month between April and June and again, each will have its own missions, signature kills and Contracts:
"Of course [each location will have] new disguises, weapons ,and ways of taking out your target. April takes you to Thailand, May will see you visiting the United States of America, and June sends you across the globe to Japan."
The digital version will retail for $59.99 and will give purchasers access to "everything." They didn't want to call this "episodic" for a reason. A second version, dubbed the Intro Pack, will be available for $34.99 and give you all content released in the month of March. It just won't go beyond that; you'd have to purchase the rest for $29.99.
A physical version is coming later in 2016 but we don't yet have an official date. Let's hope this new structure works out for Hitman .

Wow!!! This business model is terrible for consumers. Why is the "single player" content separated into monthly availability??? This means there is no overarching story, just missions to complete. And I bet they're all gonna feel like side missions due to this structure too. I was interested too….what a shame. I shouldn't have to buy a full priced single player game and expect my content to roll out like dlc. Looking at you too Evolve.
