Last week during the Tokyo Game Show, developer From Software officially announced the date and price of the anticipated Bloodborne expansion, The Old Hunters.
Not long after, GameSpot chatted with series producer Masaaki Yamagiwa, who discussed various details, including the addition of new weapons.
First, Yamagiwa revealed that what we saw at TGS was merely one of the three new stages that will be included in the expansion. Second, he made it plain that while you don't have to have completed the main quest to play The Old Hunters, you can't access the DLC immediately upon starting a new game. You have to at least reach a certain point in the adventure, and then the extra content will become available.
As for the weapons:
"For the most part, the new weapons are weapons that were made after the main game was done and we were ready to work on the DLC. There were a few weapons that were originally going to be in the main game but we weren't able to tweak them up to the level that we wanted to. Once the game was over, we tweaked them and now they appear in the DLC."
All told, if you count both left- and right-handed weapons, Yamagiwa says the expansion will boast "at least 10 new ones" and the final number might be closer to 15. So, excited?

I'm very excited about this expansion pack.
This is still my game of the year right now. I like MGS5 so far, I really enjoyed the intro.
