These days, sports video games aren't just about sports.
They're also about life off the court, as evidenced by the latest trailer for NBA 2K16 called MyCAREER: The Whole Story.
The mode in question boasts a story – yes, an actual story – directed by Spike Lee and the central hub of your career will be MyCourt. It's a practice facility that lets you customize just about everything, and you can put your progress on display. See, progressing means you earn awards and you'll be proud of those awards, right? You can even invite friends to your court and launch other modes from there.
When there's no game to play, you can do all sorts of stuff: Maybe you have to satisfy an endorsement contract, or you can bolster your connections with other NBA players and legends. You can even improve your existing skills by doing some drills and interacting with coaches. Off days aren't really "off," as you can see.
