The evidence is starting to mount: Konami may be out of the big-budget game business for good.
First, it was previously revealed that Fox Engine Director Julien Merceron left the company .
Then, French publication Gameblog (as translated and confirmed by Eurogamer ) says Konami has no plans to release a new Metal Gear title after the acclaimed entry, The Phantom Pain , which launched on September 1.
Currently, the only major game in the publisher's hopper is the new Pro Evolution Soccer . Furthermore, Konami composer Rika Muranaka, who has worked on the Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises, says on Twitter that she must also find new work:
Is this the end of Konami as we know it? Or is it merely a lull after releasing a super huge title like MGSV?
I hope their new mobile direction takes them to bankruptcy and seppoku by the CEO. And that they sell Suikoden to a good company like Level 5.
OMG I'd love for Suikoden to be in the hands of Level 5.
Ugh, This is such a disappointment. This is like Nintendo saying they're done making AAA Zelda games. Zelda and Metal Gear. My two favorite franchises and now one of them is dead because the publisher couldn't get its act together.
Apparently Konami is a family owned company and the younger executives who took over are the ones who wanted to get rid of their console game makers and focus on crap mobile games and slot machines.
Watch, Konami will make another Metal Gear. But it will be some garbage cellphone game.
Yes, I'm bitter about this. Hahaha
C'mon Sony! Make Konami an offer they can't refuse.
To think that this was one of the publishers that shaped my childhood gaming years. Contra, Metal Gear, Double Dribble…
This doesn't bode well for the future of Metal Gear Online.

Konami needs to let Kojima keep the MGS license and hopefully he can find a publisher that will write him a blank check to create the games he desires. Or he can start his own studio and self publish his games.
well, if this is the case, i hope that kojima purchases the Metal Gear and Silent Hill franchise. MGSV was an astounding game, but after chapter 1 was complete, you could tell that something was up, chapter 2 was only half a chapter with most of the missions being repeat of older missions, then things like mission 51 (and i'm sure a lot more) was cut out, as well as chapter 3 peace. Now, the game already had 60 hours worth into it, and the game is marvelous, I'm just pointing out, something clearly happened halfway through it's development.
I really hope somebody is able to purchase these IPs and continue their legacy. Seeing mgsv completed would be nice too…
Maybe in 15 years Sony will bring Kojima on e3's stage to announce a MGS Kickstarter. It'd be like 2015 all over again.

Yup!
I heard that Konami is going mobile, wouldn't be surprised if they really do.
Mobile gaming is insanely huge in Japan.
The japanese has become mindless sheep to that mobile trash.
F*ck you Konami! The new young executives can go to hell, because they're not going anywhere else! Konami has been fu*king up their franchises since as early as 2008. It's why the original ending to MGS 4 was changed, why Castlevania LOS 2 was underdelivered, and why we got 2/3 of a full game with MGS V!
It's good these punks don't leave their tall, lofty buildings to go outside much, because if I caught eye of them they would wish they were dead.
If he does make games again, he needs to work on something new. MGSV is great but the series needs to end now and if he does do another MGS which is unlikely hopefully he makes MGS1 from the PS1.
I'd rather see him tackle the horror genre, especially with some of the ideas he has in that creative mind of his.
Blades of Steel AAA sequel. All hope. Lost.
& so it goes. Time marches on. Sad.
