For the first time in franchise history, an Uncharted title will have a single-player expansion.
Developer Naughty Dog confirmed as much earlier this week and even though we have no details yet, the mere fact of this DLC's existence has elicited plenty of reactions.
So, why are they doing it? Studio boss Arne Meyer answered that question during this week's GameStop Expo , citing the Left Behind expansion for The Last Of Us as inspiration:
"It worked really well for us for The Last of Us. We thought we could put together a really great piece of content as well [for Uncharted 4]."
Meyer added that Naughty Dog actually wanted to deliver single-player DLC for past Uncharted entries, but they just couldn't figure out how to do it. However, he believes they "rose to the challenge for The Last Of Us " and they're using that success as a springboard.
The Uncharted 4 single-player expansion will release via the Uncharted Triple Pack, which also features two multiplayer packs. This info was announced alongside the release date (March 18, 2016) and special editions . That Left Behind DLC really was fantastic; if Naughty Dog can replicate that quality for the Uncharted 4 DLC, I'm all for it.

In that case il wait for a game of the year edition before i play this.
This is ridiculous. I'm sorry but using TLOU as an example of why, shows its about getting more money out of it.
This isn't a series that should have single player dlc. Under the circumstances, as a fan of the series and the ways they tell the stories, this is a huge let down. Now upon finishing the game I'm going to wonder what they didn't include and why is Nates adventure over if there is more to tell.

Hmmm I'll take that as a good sign. If they model after tlou dlc then to me that says it will be something involving a character other than Drake. I'm all for that.
I'll choose not to be offended! Bring me Uncharted 4 goodness!

Hypocrite.
In this case I'd definitely make an exception here for this dev. It's Naughty Dog we're talking about here. And it's anywhere near the awsomesauce quality of Left Behind DLC, then the more the merrier. I'm all for it and can't wait. The letdown for me is that, as of now, it seems to only be available if you preorder the digital special edition.
The Left Behind dlc was easily the best DLC I've ever had. By a lot.
I have no doubts they'll do it the right way.
