Okay, so it seems obvious that Kojima and Co. have produced another masterpiece .
And it's all too easy to say, "oh, it's coming out on September 1; I'd better just wait." You'd be missing out on a hugely promising PlayStation 4 exclusive if you glossed over this week, though.
Until Dawn launches on Tuesday and for many horror fans, this could be one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences of 2015. But we've seen it happen so many times before: A really good, interesting game has a release date that's simply too close to something like MGSV. Then, it just recedes into the shadows, barely registering a blip on the gamer hype meter.
It always drives me nuts when this happens, even when we're talking about one of my all-time favorite franchises ( Metal Gear Solid ). I still remember when Enslaved: Odyssey to the West launched in early October, a week or two before a deluge of gi-mongous titles hit the market. There's a good reason why, in the years to follow, many publishers pushed their games out of the jam-packed fall schedules. They just didn't want their products to get lost amid the blockbusters.
And while September isn't exactly "packed," MGSV is already creating quite the buzz and don't forget that Mad Max also launches on the same day. Until Dawn deserves a chance, damnit! That's all I'm saying.
Related Game(s): Until Dawn
Looking forward to Until Dawn considering how badly starved the horror genre is at the moment but if the rumors are true that the game is only six hours long with only five endings then i may have to just rent it.
I'm actually looking forward to playing Until Dawn with my brother and gf. It's one of those games we expect to just totally enjoy playing with others. I do hope it's a good play, though!
I hope it's good but I get these odd feeling in my gut that it will receive the The Order 1886 treatment no matter what.
If anybody knocks it for the length they don't deserve to review games.
It's called Until Dawn, and it's a horror game. Obviously the objective is to survive Until Dawn.
The lack of press/hype on this game makes me nervous. Even the new PS4 "Fall Sizzle" promo omits this title, and seems to only focus 3rd party titles. You'd think that with the lack of first party exclusives that they would be doing all they can to promote this and get the word out. I was talking about "Until Dawn" with some friends last week and they didn't know it was coming out already.
That being said, I am getting this tomorrow and truly looking forward to playing it.
Until what now?
Currently at 79 on metacritic. But I'd be a smidge higher without the one negative review of 40, sounds like that review didn't get the point of the game.
