Stealth aficionados have another game to look forward to.
Publisher GungHo Entertainment has announced that République will launch for PlayStation 4 in 2016 in both North America and Europe.
This is an episodic stealth series in which you control a young woman named Hope, who is attempting to escape from a totalitarian state. You have to guide her from the perspective of surveillance cameras (a unique approach) but GungHo added that in the PS4 version, "players finally take full control of Hope." That should dramatically change the gameplay, don't you think?
Developed by Camouflaj (a studio helmed by Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots producer Ryan Payton), this project began as a Kickstarter project in 2012 and was originally only scheduled for mobile platforms. But that wasn't attracting enough money so Camouflaj added PC, which helped the campaign hit $555,000. And they're excited to bring this experience to PS4; said Payton:
"Having been so inspired by early PlayStation titles, it's with much joy and a touch of irony that the full République experience will arrive on PS4. I can't thank GungHo enough for supporting our efforts to faithfully translate République into a true console experience."
When it becomes available, each of the five episodes will be sold on the PSN in one package. Right now, there are three episodes currently available for PC.
