New MGSV Trailer Warns Series Fans: The End Is Nigh

If you didn't already know, the legendary Metal Gear Solid franchise is drawing to a close.

The fifth official entry, The Phantom Pain , is coming out very soon and Sony Japan has released a new trailer highlighting the IP's impressive history.

At the end, it says, "Finally, the conclusion will be told." This sort of implies that MGS is done but chances are, we'll see the title again…but we may never see good ol' Solid Snake again, so you'd better appreciate one of the greatest characters in gaming history while you've still got the chance. The trailer, by the way, highlights memorable scenes from each of the previous entries, going all the way back to the original classic on the first PlayStation.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set to launch on September 1 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game's online component, Metal Gear Online , will be ready for consoles on October 6, but won't come to PC until January 2016.

Conclusion was already told, and we already know the general reasons Big Boss became a villain. If the franchise shows up again it'll probably be another bloody pachinko machine. This is probably the last game Konami will release that's worth a purchase.
