Dude, Gauntlet !
It's a hack 'n slash arcade classic and developer Arrowhead Games Studios is just about ready to deliver an updated version to PlayStation 4.
As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , the Gauntlet: Slayer Edition lands on Sony's latest console on August 11.
The new blog post highlights the improvements and additions to the original 2014 release; this includes general gameplay alterations involving bosses, characters, and the "readability" of combat. For instance, the team has "gone through the game and reevaluated every single enemy," which resulted in changes to all but two. They tweaked movement speed and even added entirely new ability sets, while also removing certain foes and adding fresh opponents.
Plus, the Slayer Edition boasts four "distinctly different character classes," including the Elf (ranged attacker) and the Warrior (expert in melee combat). Pick your favorite and go adventuring! Given the significant updates this game has received, and the iconic nature of the IP, one has to assume this ill be a great summer diversion.
