EA: Don’t Expect A Battlefront Delay

If the game isn't ready, Electronic Arts won't release it.

That's the new company mantra it seems, but those looking forward to Star Wars: Battlefront needn't worry about it.

Or so says EA CFO Peter Moore, who recently spoke to MCV about a number of topics, including the prospect of a Battlefront delay. Moore said if it was necessary, they would indeed push Battlefront but right now, it seems improbable:

"…you can't ship it if it doesn't work or the quality level isn't right. You just bite the bullet. Trust me, shipping Battlefield: Hardline in March was not the easiest thing to do from a business perspective, but it was absolutely the right thing to do from a 'players first' perspective. We would have no compunction, no hesitation whatsoever, that if something was to go wrong with Star Wars Battlefront–if it wasn't right–we would just push it. But that's not going to happen."

Another reason it really shouldn't happen is that EA doesn't want to miss the "Star Wars VII" hype that is surely to be overflowing this fall. Star Wars: Battlefront is currently set to launch on November 17 and that's perfect.

Elsewhere, developer DICE has teased the release of brand new gameplay footage and a new mode, both of which should go live today. We will also see a brand new Hero type so "Star Wars" aficionados should keep their eyes peeled.
