Absolutely not, says producer Katsuhiro Harada. He told Japanese publication Famitsu (as translated by Siliconera ) that in fact, Namco hasn't forgotten about the game, which was announced five years ago at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Said Harada:
"I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development."
Harada wouldn't go into details but he did say that the character lineup is complete, and the team has finished "the polygon models, moves and systems," so perhaps it's not far off now. Fighting fans have been asking about this crossover for a long time, especially after Street Fighter X Tekken came out. That was over three years ago, ya know.
Well, just be patient.

Great to hear, they will probably start dropping more info when Tekken 7 is closer to release. I thought SFxT excluding the garbage gem system was a pretty solid game that did a great job of putting Tekken characters into SF's universe. Should be interesting to see how Namco implement SF characters in Tekken's world. Looking forward to this one and glad it hasn't been canned.
The project is a failure. If they release the second part to this companion piece on the next generation of consoles they'll hardly feel like a set.
Also, I really did not like the gem system in SFxT, I hope they drop that and don't have any power up systems in this new game should it ever arrive.
