This is the proper way to respond to fan backlash.
When Bungie revealed The Taken King's Collector's Edition for Destiny , veteran players had one problem: Certain class items, shaders, and emotes were exclusive to that $80 edition.
This meant they wouldn't be available to current players unless they bought the Collector's Edition , which of course is basically buying the same game again. But in the team's latest Weekly Update , they've rectified the situation: Now, players will be able to purchase a $20 upgrade to the $40 expansion, which will grant them access to that previously locked digital content.
So, if you've got the base game and you've purchased the previous two expansions, you can get everything included in The Taken King. Those who have hit Level 30 or have played both prior expansions will still rank as VIPs and will receive exclusive rewards.
The Taken King is slated to launch in September and it'll boast a new raid, several new strikes, a new story, and multiplayer improvements and additions.

To be honest Bungie hasn't a clue how to release content for this game. Mainly because I don't think they truly know what it is. They price the extra content similiar to an mmo, which it's far from; and they tailor it to rpg' enthusiast's who like to grind, but add no freshness to the replay.
To me, despite the entertainment it lends, it's a mess.
People really need to realize that Bungie actually has very little to do with this kind of stuff, it is mostly Activision's doing.
It's like the entire community is getting MORE stupid over the years.
Oh okay… so Activision is to blame. Doesn't make me or anyone else "more stupid".
Aside from that, it doesn't change the fact which still remains. Which you failed to address, and instead turned to using insults.

okay ill admit i already preordered taken king.
now that this news comes, i have no idea how ill be affected at this point.
i am starting to feel ripped off (yes, now i feel it, so shutup and dont argue w me about it bc i was happy to spend all that money until now. i actually dont mind spending money on games i really enjoy)
depending what they do after taken king will determine my dedication.
bungie seriously f'd this up like no other and the fact that theyre totalllllly pulling that mona lisa dlc meme is starting to burn just a tad now.
I'm confused by your comment.
You have already pre ordered the expansion, the standalone expansion or the Collectors Edition??
If you pre-ordered just the expansion by itself, I don't understand how you would feel ripped off, TTK is tipped to give us 1/2 to 3/4 of the amount of content the vanilla game had, which is pretty big for a console expansion. The price point for the expansion alone is industry standard, nothing bad about it.
If you bought the Collectors Edition, I could kind of understand feeling ripped off, but not really, because you knew from day 1 exactly what you were getting.

sorry for the tirade, just frustrated from bungies stupid moves.
i preordered the standalone. i bought the game day one and purchased each dlc as they became available for preorder.
Akuma,
The Taken King offering 1/2 to 3/4 of the content of the original game isn't saying much…
I played Destiny and enjoyed it up to about Level 23, when the repetitive nature of the game, and lack of storyline finally got to me.
Great shooting mechanics can make a good game great. Problem is, there's no much else there other than great shooting mechanics. The price of the DLC for the game is now greater than the game itself. With all of the great games coming out in the next 6-12 months, The Taken King will end up being a budget buy, at best, for me.
Week ago I finally bought Destiny, including 2 expansions – it was on 50% sale. So I thought I will give it a shot. Reached level 12. Now I'm all into Batman:AK and next is MGSV. If I will have time in between I will play Destiny; if not… oh well. I know that I will never get into any raids because I have no time for scheduled gameplay. Only stikes that are based on random matchmaking will do for me.
Wonder how long will I play until get bored from grinding and repetitive nature of the game…
Everything feels lackluster that comes out for this game.
None of the DLC or this expansion feel meaty enough. In fact I feel if the base game the DLC and this expansion launched a year ago and was the base game, they could have justified charging 70 bucks for their game.
This game stands to be one of the biggest rip offs I have ever purchased.
Sure I can get hundreds of hours of repetitive gameplay out of this game, but I can get hundreds of hours out of Tetris if I want to.
Doesn't really bother me much..though I don't play like I used to..Look forward to this.
