You had to figure this would be pretty huge.
In an open letter today, developer CD Projekt Red thanked all the RPG lovers out there for jumping all over The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , which launched on May 19.
The result is over 4 million copies sold in just two weeks. Said studio co-founder and joint CEO Marcin Iwinski:
"I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the four million gamers worldwide who bought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the first two weeks from launch. Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is!"
There's no knowing if that 4 million stat is higher or lower than internal projections. It might actually be lower, given the massive hype surrounding the game. But either way, it's nice to see a big number associated with a top-tier title. The Witcher 3 unfortunately launched with too many problems in our estimation, but patches and updates have fixed most of those issues.
As of now, it's a pretty great game. Played it yet? Or still playing it and plan to play it for a long time? 😉

Such nice fellows.
I'm enjoying it but last night's session was kinda drab.
I was feeling inklings of pausing the game for a few days to play something else.

I know the feeling all too well. I played the game so much this weekend that Sunday night I was playing Street Fighter.
You know that is the perfect solution. But right now where I live my internet goes to crap because our provider gets overloaded at night time (when I play)
It makes online play pretty terrible. I'm hoping it improves during the summer when students leave town.
Add me on PSN Success. I'm always on now because I'm finally friends with our whole national FGC's best players (NZ, not USA).
