Now that we're well into the new generation of hardware, have you waved a permanent goodbye to the last era?
Are the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and/or Wii out of rotation for good? Or do you still go back and play games on those consoles?
Recent evidence suggests that gamers made the recent transition faster than in any previous generation. Generational fatigue, coupled with the immense hype surrounding two machines launching at about the same time, probably contributed to the rapid adoption rate. However, after so many games launched in the previous era, you might've had a tremendous backlog heading into this generation.
If that's the case, are you still chipping away at that backlog, or have you simply dropped those "old" games altogether? And if you haven't yet jumped on the next-gen bandwagon yet, why not?
My Ps3 as been unused since Bloodborne, now I have Witcher 3 and in a couple of Weeks Batman next comes Metal Gear… and Fallout 4 gonna be released this year, just damn.
Worst of all I have like 8 unfinished PS3 games e_e
Only ~8?
My PS3 and Wii still get used. Just finished my first play through of the Witcher 3 and am about to jump on The Last Story on my Wii. Still have tons of unfinished games on PS3 as well.
Still using them. Slowly going through backlogland.
This morning I sold my PS3. And last week I got my X1.
Yep, I moved forward.
Bad move imo.
Just out of curiosity, what made you get an xbox one instead of a ps4?
I got my PS4 at launch and kept my PS3 for year and a half.
After some months of not turing on the PS3 I decided to trade it for an XB1. I really wanted to play Sunset Overdrive and a couple of other exclusives.
I got like 150 USD for my PS3, 100 for my Uncharted collection and a couple of Move controllers, 15% off from Amazon, so it was a trully trade
If it wasn't for Ultra Street Fighter IV, my PS3 wouldn't have been used at all for over a year. The last non-USF4 game I played on it was DMC. In fact, I just retired my PS3 when USF4 released for PS4 and it's being displayed proudly on one of my shelves.
Many thanks to my PS3 for all the great moments. It has certainly earned it's well deserved retirement.
im all caught up on my PS3 with the exception of one game…fucking Drakengard 3, had no idea it even came out until i saw it at a walmart bargain bin so until im done with that the PS3 has a little life left
i sold my ps3 a month before my ps4 came. so yeah, i was quick to ditch it and move on.
also, i knew it was time to go when the ps store was extremely laggy and still is from what ive seen on my bros ps3.
they seriously need to overhaul the ps store, it is anything but user friendly. and still laggy at times, just not as bad as the ps3.
Nope.
No, many games to play yet.
I just played Uncharted 3.
For all practical terms I abandoned that generation 1.5 years before the new even started. I was so god darn tired of that box. It came to a point where I still purchased games out of old habit, but never played them.

Think I have both batman games to finish, uncharted 2 & 3, haven't even started the original black ops…
Thats what I can think of right away, sure there are more, but just don't have the time. Might have to give up on them, get the uncharted ps4 compilation and retire the ps3
I use my PS3 to spin movies on.
Ah – me too.
Nope still chipping away at my Ps3 backlog im not ready to unhook and retire my Ps3 yet. Though i retired my 360 like months ago
I still play GTA5 for my ps3 and I still need to play Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2.
My PS4 has been getting more love than my PS3 lately. I do still play PS3 games though, and I have a huge backlog to get caught up on so I won't be retiring it any time soon. Also, I can't justify spending full price on new games these days so I've got a bit of a drought coming up on my PS4 until some PS4 games I want get cheap (and I have time to play them).
I expect my PS3 will stay on the shelf for at least another year.
Nope. Still hitting backlog and cleaning trophies.
No way, I still have an gigantic backlog on both PS3 & PC I haven't played/finished, so I'm not even thinking of buying a PS4 yet…
Maybe if I see a great deal on Black Friday I might still pick one up, who knows…
My ps3 is mainly used for movies now. I'll download a free plus game i haven't played and go through it. For the most part my ps4 gets all the love
I still use PS3 because logitech g27
no still using the ps3 on my back log of ps3 games yet to do
happy gaming
