Electronic Arts says we can expect the new Mirror's Edge to drop before April of next year.
But we really don't have much in the way of information; no baseline details, no media, etc. We don't even have an official title. …or do we?
The Games Cabin has spotted a new trademark filing for "video game software" and the name is "Mirror's Edge Catalyst." When and if EA puts this game on display at E3, that's the title we might see pop up on the big screen. And given the word "catalyst," we're now wondering if the new project is going to be a prequel and tackle the origins of protagonist Faith.
Of course, "Catalyst" could mean something else. We just want to see the damn game.
Can't wait. Aside from the next Deus Ex this is easily my most anticipated game in a long, long time.
So, gameplay from a new Fallout, Mass Effect, Deus Ex and a Mirrors Edge with the potential to appeal more to me than the first (I loved the artwork/aesthetics of that game)?
This years E3 is *already* a winner in my book.
I hope they capture everything that was great about the original, just have better graphics and story.
Didn't they say pseudo sequel? It is a remake of the game with a bit of an origin story to it?
No, it's a prequel. It takes place before the events of Mirror's Edge and focuses on Faith's origin story. It's not a remake of the original.
well i suspose we don't have to guess what its offically called anymore, just hope they do the series justice after the really good origonal
happy gaming
