When we see more at E3, everyone will be even happier.
For now, though, it's nice to finally have the official announcement: Fallout 4 has been confirmed; it's in the works for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (it will not be produced for last-gen consoles).
The latest entry in the open-world RPG franchise looks awfully impressive so far. You can get a peek at the official website and of course, you'll want to see the debut trailer below. The video shows a post-apocalyptic setting – par for the course for Fallout – and actually has a Bioshock -y vibe to me. Fallout 3 fans will probably remember the line, "War never changes."
Bethesda might unveil some gameplay at E3 and after that, RPG aficionados will indeed be champing at the bit.

Great!For now i'm satisfied:
Fallout 4 Is Official,
it's current gen only,
and it's not an xbox exclusive[didn't expect it to be…but remember tomb raider..],
and sunday the 14th the releasedate[Bethesda likes october,so let's make it october this year]
I was worried Microsoft was going to buy the exclusive rights for Fallout 4, so I was thrilled to see the PS4 logo on the trailer.
I'm SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music takes me back.
I was just playing the Galaxy News Radio set of tracks while working in the library yesterday. I was thinking "For the trailer I'd start with that War Never Changes line."
Graphics look really great. The only post-apocalyptic game that matters shall return. 🙂
They need to get Iron Maiden's When the Wild Wind Blows
song in the game.
The first person I thought of when viewing this trailer was you. Congrats, you've been wanting this for a long time!
I thought of all you guys, especially World, as well 🙂 What a great trailer. Considering Bethesda is heavily promoting pre-orders right there on their own web site, I think it's definitely possible they want to ship this before the end of the year. Boy would I like to snuggle up with this all winter long 🙂
Yeah the music is just FANTASTIC – I look forward to hear the soundtrack this time!
Ha, it's nice to be thought of 🙂
i bought and played Fallout 3 but it wasn't as fun as I ancitipated it to be. I know it's a wasteland but I definitely wanted more color and more trees. The world was too bland and overtime it just beccame way too boring for my taste.
Avoid Skyrim then too, it's like an eternal winter.
There was one lush place in Fallout 3 but it was small.
I actually disagree with that, World. Part of why I liked Skyrim more than Fallout 3 was the fact that there were such varied landscapes. It's all The North, of course, and very cold, but the southernmost regions of Skyrim were quite lush and green, the mountaintops capped with ice, varied architecture from east to west, etc. As hyped as I am for Fallout 4, I prefer the more varied tone if Elder Scrolls. The country is at war, and there are dragons flying around, but it's still a beautiful place. There are happy people farming, tending bar, singing songs, and so on, just living their lives. People do that stuff in Fallout too, it's just so unrelentingly bleak that it got depressing at points in Fallout.
Then again, I live in DC, and at the time I played Fallout 3 lived less than a mile from the Washington Monument. It struck a BIT close to home when the Metro stop I used in Fallout was the same one next to my home 🙂
Nice. I never played Fallout game before, this probably will be my first Fallout game…
If you have a PS3 or 360, I would play Fallout 3. You won't be disappointed.
Love the back-and-forth from the past to the present. I would love to have a prologue that takes place during the past, your decisions then having consequences for the rest of the game.
And could the protagonist in the trailer speaking mean that we could have fully-voiced player character? Or is that just way too much to hope for?
I'd love to play in the pseudo 50's as well. I love that period.
I hope there is full dialogue too, with compromising the amount of possibilities. Dragon Age compromises on conversation possibilities when using voiced characters. I don't wanna see that.
From the trailer I get the impression that we indeed will (periodically) go back in time in FO4, the scenes looks to be from "playable" locations.

The "war" guy sounds so much like Ron Perlman. Is it him?
Yes it is. Plus, the newscaster sounded like Ron too.
Can't wait! Hopefully it releases this year, played so much of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
I won't even try to describe how fantastic it is to FINALLY see glimpses of the next Fallout.
I'll just mention that I so totally love the music they put into these games.
Oh how I look forward to explore again, with the pipboy tuned in on one of the stations.

This time I want hundreds of songs instead of 20.
Yes.
Well some of the shots definitely looked New England-y Massachusetts confirmed?
Wonder if it will come out this year
Looking forward to "Chopping that meat"
Funny fact: That was only half the song in the game. I found the second half and updated my music files.
WEWM…
Dat old lady, eh! Oh man, and the prison! XD
You know what I'm talking' 'bout! XD
That second half was somethin' else!
AAAAAAT LASSSSSSST!!!!!!! The time has come!!! I'm so freaking excited. When i saw the reveal trailer earlier today I cried tears of joy!! 7yrs and at last Fallout 4 arrives! It is time for us to return to the world of Fallout, brothers of steel, fellow wanderers, vault dwellers, and wastelanders!!!
Dogmeat is back, you have a voice in the game, airships!!! So damn excited I can't possibly put into words how I feel right now!!!
I'm happy to see it looks more colourful and interesting, in terms of landscapes, etc.
The bland hues in Fallout 3 really make it hard for me and my attention deficit to stay interested. I otherwise liked the game.
i thought i was a pritty decent tralier and then the fallout hype train begins i'm think end of the end but could be sooner or later
happy gaming
