As you might've guessed, the release of the highly anticipated RPG from CD Projekt Red prompted a whole lot of players to make a purchase this week.
According to our latest poll, the majority of our readers planned to pick up The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this week, while many other said they'd get it soon.
While the game has received tremendous critical acclaim, it's the product's unfortunate instability that has been getting more attention lately. We ran into one that forced us to start over and many gamers are irritated at the constant hitches and glitches. At the same time, there are many who say they haven't encountered any serious problems and they just love the game.
Which leads us to this week's poll: How is The Witcher 3 running for you? Is it going along pretty smoothly? Are there just a few small bugs? Or is it so unreliable that it's virtually unplayable?

It was hard to not buy asap, the game was so damn hyped, it sure was even hard to wait for the people that can't enjoy Bloodborne.
Btw Ben I have one question, you wrote an article about thinking that the Witcher 3 probably was going to be the first real next gen game on consoles, now that you played it whats your opinion about it.

Probably Ben will change his mind and say MGS V will be the first real next gen game on console…
The article in question merely posed the possibility. I wondered if The Witcher 3 could be the first true "next-gen" game, and I said it sounded like it could be.
Working fine for me so far. 2 graphical glitches both when another character tries to push past you. Geralt sorta glides over the ground.
Now is it just me but when riding or walking the grass looks bland and u colourful. Like a sorta washed out colour ?
Apart from that I'm loving the game.
I've had no problems with bugs, just the framerate, but i'm not far into the game.
Let's face it, were not kids, we know what we're buying and we know that games just really aren't as complete out of the box anymore. Before online and patches the games came out finished but they don't anymore. It's just the way it is.. It's nice when some games are more stable and glitch free but I don't think I've played a game that hadn't required a patch in years and years certainly not this gen or the later half of the last one.
So this reply is also aimed at the other topic about devs rushing games. It's all about money and industry competition. So let's just accept and move on, we can't change it, we can't petition against it we can't do some dumbass boycott either, so just buy the game and enjoy rather than second guess about purchases. … Failing that just don't buy it.
Personally for me the witcher is next gen, but so are my experiences in playing destiny with friends. There's a fair few games out there that you just wouldn't be able to get on the last gen, bloodborne being one of them. The witcher has it's glitches and I know you Ben have fallen foul to one of them, but it's a rare one, one that I've only seen reported last week by one site other than psxe. It doesn't make me rethink anything. The witcher is awesome, maybe not a 10/10 but then I don't believe there are any perfect games out there apart from maybe Tetris, lol. But I also think 5/10 is an avg about… I know crazy isn't it.
Let's just play it and enjoy it, if people don't like it they can trade it in. If some are mad because they spent their hard earned money on a game before the reviews then that's their lookout.
But then the last time I looked the ps4 version of witcher 3 on metacritic was 92/100 with 50 sites reviewing it, so if I had seen that then I would be happy to buy this game, imo they were right on the ball with this one.
