Gimme it. Now.
Recently, we told you about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night producer Koji Igarashi participating in Double Fine's "Devs Play" series , and "IGA" offered his thoughts on the classic masterpiece.
But did you know that Igarashi has announced a new Kickstarter project for a game called Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ? It's a 2.5D "Igavanai-style" title that is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux. The crowdfunding campaign had a goal of $500,000 but with 32 days to go, the project has already earned nearly $900,000. This means they can get Metal Gear Solid veteran David Hayter for one of the voices!
So yeah, this is going to happen. We'll get physical discs, too, which is great news for real game collectors. While you've probably already made up your mind that you must play this game, here's the pitch video to entice you even further:
Gimme it. Now. x2
PS: How can publishers think that there's no demand for this type of games? wasn't SOTN the most downloaded PSN game until FFVII came along? And are we not in an intense nostalgia driven period of the industry?
Well they said the same to Inafune about Mighty Number 9 and Sakaguchi with Project Phoenix, and they both reached a million on their kickstarters too…
I swear the games industry gets more and more like the movie industry day by day… sigh.
Edit: The kickstarter has reached $1'375.000. Yeah, there's no interest in this type of games, suuure…
