This bug really got around over the course of the winter and obviously, it isn't dead yet.
Publisher Deep Silver has confirmed that the anticipated sequel, Dead Island 2 , won't launch until 2016. It was originally scheduled to release this spring.
The reasoning behind this delay is simply that the project is very ambitious, and the team wants to ensure their vision. As they posted on Twitter :
"We have always set ourselves a big goal for Dead Island 2: to create the sequel that takes Dead Island to the next level. A game that takes what our fans tell us they love about Dead Island–multiple different characters to play with, co-op, and turning a paradise setting into a zombie slaughter melee–and a game that adds a ton more content and combat options on top of that."
The designers say their focus is "purely on development" at this point and although they realize that fans are disappointed, it's really the best decision right now. You don't want to play a mediocre product, right? And besides, big games are just around the corner…
Heck, maybe they just didn't want to compete with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt .

by the time this game comes out, no one will care anymore.
and if they didnt wanna go up against witcher, then delay it another month or two. not a whole year.
i just hope they make this one worth while cos the last one was okay…
