Don't get too attached to Geralt when you play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt .
No, it's not a spoiler. It's just that developer CD Projekt Red believes Geralt's story will draw to a close in the latest franchise entry. As senior writer Jakub Szamałek told IGN in a recent interview:
"I think good stories must have an ending. You cannot extend them indefinitely, and we felt that Geralt has had such an amazing adventure, and his saga is already so long and complex that this seemed like a good point to think about an appropriate finale for the story."
Of course, this doesn't mean the IP in question is done. Szamałek added that " The Witcher universe is a very big place" and they "might return to it at some point." But the takeaway is, Geralt finishes his long quest in this installment, which isn't necessarily terrible news.
Even the most successful franchises need a refreshing protagonist every now and then. Well, unless you're in a Nintendo franchise.

I broke down and pre-ordered it!
After watching the trailer on my PS4 I told myself it was like a Zelda game made for mature audiences (hate me now!) so I had better play it.

Stop saying smart things and trying to convert me.
(I pre=ordered it in February.)
That is pretty much what it is Temjin.
If you get sucked into the world they have built, the politics and racism you will love this series.
The combat looks to be an improvement over The Witcher 2 and that games combat was fantastic.
Welcome to the big leagues my friend.
They did make a fake advertisement a long while ago about Dandelion.
"The Bard: Savior of Queens" LOL.
If the guys at CDProjekt could make it as a side story, it would be awesome.
Good story with open world map and 200 hours of gameplay this gonna be epic…
It's good that they decided not to drag this along like star wars, star trek, LOTR, Mass Effect …
I guess its a good thing its 200 hrs and 36 endings. I can finally retire and play this for the rest of my life. This is the last next gen game for me, realistically speaking.
That's cool, maybe the next one can be about a female warrior.
I've seen Witcher 3 as box art on game place commercials. I'm like eeeee, don't get ahead of yourselves. This game is a long ways off yet.
yeah i get and they are right and good on them for say that this is the end the finish if the witcher but now we can put their talents to good use and make a new IP, which i'm sure will be great
happy gaming
