We've had lots of great games so far this generation, even if we lack that "wow" factor.
Of course, a lot of games have been upgraded or remastered versions of last-gen classics, like The Last Of Us Remastered , Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition , Borderlands: The Handsome Collection , Grand Theft Auto V (for PS4, Xbox One and PC), and Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition .
But what's the best new title we've seen so far? Is it the recently released and widely lauded Bloodborne ? Is it the title that won seemingly countless Game of the Year Awards, Dragon Age: Inquisition ? Or is it one of the smaller bite-size gems, like Axiom Verge or OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood ? It'd be interesting to see what people think, especially when everyone's definition of "next-gen" is different. Perhaps people are plenty happy with what they have so far and if that's the case, what are your favorite games?
More are coming, of course, so don't sweat it if you can't think of one. 🙂
Bloodborne.
Bloodborne.
The evil within and bloodborne, and probably the Witcher 3…
+1 on The Evil Within. I didn't like it to start with but i gave it another go and i am really glad i did because it's solid game in it's own right and actually gives the survival horror genre the kick up the arse that it needed.
Only one? Damn… Well if I had to pick just one, Bloodborne.
Otherwise: The Order 1886, Bloodborne, Infamous Second Son, The Evil Within, Killzone Shadowfall, PT, aaaaaand…. Oh no, that was all.
Hey don't forget Knack…
Ground Zeroes, because SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!
Dragon Age Inquisition.
I love me some Bloodborne, but I like story more. Dragon Age involved you more in my opinion. Witcher 3 is set to top that.
I didn't play early on to see all the bugs. So take that with a grain of salt, I guess. But now that I've been playing it, AC:Unity.
And I didn't play it until after Bloodborne.
The Last of Us remastered, I never beaten it on ps3 and the 60fps made a huge immersive difference.
Gotta be Bloodborne. It's even better now with shorter load times.
Edit: And as much as it disappointed me when it came out compared to the first two, Infamous Second Son was really fun.

Bloodborne!!!
Handsome Collection.
The Wonderful 101. Couple months before the PS4 era, but still the finest game of this generation, in my opinion.

I'd have to say Bloodborne by quite some margin but i would definitely give a mention to The Evil Within which really started to grow on me, the DLC episodes were fantastic too. Here's hoping this under-appreciated title gets the sequel i believe it deserves. The art style is great and the story is actually surprisingly interesting too.
The evil within sell more than 2 millions copies already, probably we will see a sequel…
I hope you're right, it deserves another installment. Hopefully if there is a sequel we will see less of Sebastian and more of Kidman who was a much more likeable character imo.

Bloodborne, although TloU Remastered (didn't play original on ps3) will remain the best game of all times for me.
The Order 1886.
The first game that looked next gen to me and I loved the story and gameplay. It had the pacing I enjoy and after the Platinum I was longing for more of that universe.
For me it is still Watch_Dogs. While the games story didn't dive into the threat of the digital age as much as I wanted, the gameplay was spot on. My favourite parts were the infiltration missions where you could use hack into the evnvironment around you from setting bombs and traps to activating electronics to distract the guards. Also the physics of the game was just so good, I haven't had as much satisfaction sneaking & shooting someone with a pistol since MGS2. I also found the world to be really fleshed out and busy. It felt like an immersive city, more so than GTA if I am honest.
Of course, this will all change when the big guns come – Persona 5, Star Ocean 5, Star Wars Battlefront 3, Final Fantasy XV & Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain… just plenty to look forward to.
i'd say either Bloodbourne or OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood probably (oh and OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood is based on the fact that OlliOlli was awsome) then Dragon Age Inquisition as well so far can't say for the year as a whole just yet
happy gaming
For me it's Dying Light and Mortal Kombat X.
Bloodborne, no contest. It will reign until the king Metal Gear Solid 5:The Phantom Pain comes out.
Wolfenstein!!
I'm going to say Bloodborne.
Whose in your avatar is that Vincent?
Onechanbara Bikini Samurai Zombie Squad Z2: Chaos
You make my nose bleed…
In a good way I hope.
hahaha
the best.
My personal best (which is the most anyone can say for a game) is Bloodborne.
It seized me in such a way that it's expereince is branded on me. Decades from now I'll be able to reflect on the PS4 era and say "Bloodborne was something incredible."
Other strong games were DA Inquistion. It's pure role playing ambrosia. I really liked the combat system too.
Drive Club is a winner. Very happy there. It's an arcade racing experience only possible on PS4.
AC Unity is one of those games that makes it easy to see how next-gen tech can really up the ante from a lot more than a graphical detail perspective. Most games anymore just don't need or try to be as complicated in recreating a whole freaking living breathing world (basically the only aspect of games that still have a notable technical ceiling), but AC Unity is one of them. And it's on a whole other level. Unfortunately the task seemed too great for the devs on this first next-gen outing, struggling to tame all of that added complexity, presenting tons of bugs and problems in the process. In time they'll tame the beast and get it right.

I think I'll get Driveclub and pray my Ferrari wheel works with it
bloodborne. no other new game has been up to live up to the standards yet.
Definitely Bloodborne,is going to make me try the soul games.Batman and DMC4 will be up there too.
Bloodborne obviously, hyped for The Witcher 3 too!
Btw some of the posts here made me want to try ''The Evil within''.
For me it's Destiny.
I would swear that Bungie made this game for my sons and I. The three-man Weekly and Nightfall strikes were tailor made for us.
With the House of Wolves around the corner and it's 3 player Prison of Elders, my suspicions seem correct. 😉
Put me down for Bloodborne. I really didn't think I would like it — it sounded way too stressful, too intensive and time-consuming for me at this point in my very busy life. Boy am i glad I listened to critics and took a crack at it. Just sublime. Best game on PS4 so far, one of the best I've played in recent years on any platform.
Bloodborne, while the Order 1886 is my personal favorite, some of the criticism were valid. Bloodborne is the Zelda Ocarina of Time of this generation.
Its got to be bloodborne for me by a massive margin, but i've also enjoyed the order 1886 and dragon age inquisition
Personally I'd say Dragon Age, even though I have yet to go back and grind a bunch so I can finally beat the final boss on the hardest difficulty.
The Witcher 3 is looking like a contender, especially with Tywin Lannister in it.
Shadow of Mordor
mmm.. not many game that haven't been hd remastered from PS3 titles. but for for new titles i'd probably Infamous Second Son is the game i play the most… it's the most fun so far. which i know will go to second place after the third Batman game in the Rocksteady Arkham trilogy comes out.. Batman Arkham Knight.
honestly though.. that and the PS4 version of DC Universe Online are the only game i play much of.. i spend more time on my PS3 then my ps4. there's just not a lot of games on it that aren't already out for a cheaper price on PS3. and even for the new titles. there isn't much of a selection so far… crap like the order 1886, the evil within, and ubisoft the game.. aka assassin's creed unity.. at least there area lot of good games coming out later this year like Arkham Knight, Onechanbara Z2: Chaos,J-Stars Victory Vs, Godzilla, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. and maybe Homefront Revolution.. the first one was kind of interesting..
