If you're still playing on last-gen systems when Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases, you'll have to deal with a slightly lesser experience.
According to the game's Japanese website (and as translated by Videogamer ), the last-gen versions of MGSV will only support 12 players online, while the PS4, Xbox One and PC iterations will support up to 16.
Now everyone is wondering: Does this mean there will be other differences? It seems hard to believe that the only difference will be the max number of players, but you never know. Perhaps the maps will have to shrink, though (as they did in Battlefield 3 ). Some consumers are waiting for games like MGSV before jumping onto the new console bandwagon, and maybe information like this will help convince others as well.
Konami has already confirmed that Metal Gear Online will be a free part of The Phantom Pain . Looking forward to it?

Since this is supposedly Kojima's swan song, he should have ignored the ps3 and 360 altogether. No doubt some of the resources used on those older versions hindered the quality on the new consoles. I can't wait for support for the old consoles die. Imagine how much better MGSV would be if it was developed only for the PS4 and XB1

If the game isn't good enough, Kojima won't do it. The man strives for perfection. I don't think it hindered the next gen versions.
Well knowing it was going to be a cross gen game he probably didn't sacrifice anything because he knew the limitations. However, I can't help but think he would have been able to do something truly revolutionary if he didn't have those limitations.
Although none of us have played the game so maybe it is revolutionary.
I agree I didn't know about this last gen versions! now I'm disappointed because I was hoping for a 100% next gen experience.
Kind of stings a little. Anyway the PS4 version is the way to go, even if u don't have a PS4 and will be purchasing one in the future, or if your desperately in need for this game when it comes out.
All things come with a budget, solaire. Not saying the game won't be absolutely stellar, just thinking that the budget and time spent on the older generation could have been used on the new ones.

Mmmm even 16 players isnt much wierd that the other versions will only support 12. Jump that impressed me was bf4 on ps4 from 32 to 64. Those 64 players games are very fun and really make ya feel like you're part of a huge battle.
