How good will Project CARS look? Oh, pretty damn good.
Developer Slightly Mad Studios has published a new FAQ concerning the upcoming racer, and we get the resolution and frame rate numbers.
If you've got a monster PC, you can enjoy up to 12K resolution – yes, 12K – and of course, the hardware will dictate the frames per second. As for PlayStation 4, it will run at 1080p and 60fps, and the Xbox One version will hit 900p and 60fps. As usual, the PS4 iteration is capable of maxing out that resolution, while the Xbox One version lags a little behind. We've been seeing that a lot this generation.
On the downside, we won't get a split-screen mode because the designers want to maintain the 60fps benchmark throughout the experience. And lastly, they explained that the older consoles just can't handle this product, which is why you won't see it on PS3 or Xbox 360.
Project CARS recently suffered its third delay, but it should be on track to release in mid-May.

12k??? That must mean three 4K screens then? Insane.
I don't have much money to make my pc run at that resolution at 60fps lol
I'm baffled it's even possible yet 😀
Yeah, I know some industrial, business comps that can run it, but for the consumers, I just don't know how. I don't think two titans running in sli can come close.
Well more resolution doesn't effect the graphics directly, but that 12k is certainly just wow. Graphics wise tho, you can just see why they manage to be able to do 60fps. On consoles (not pc), this game is really much more about the gameplay than graphics no matter how good they say it looks, so it already has a unique market for it already, apart from GT, Forza, and Driveclub. I'm so ready to give this game a go.
