As if the game wasn't big enough to start, developer CD Projekt Red will offer 16 pieces of downloadable content…and all of them will be free.
On top of which, the team has announced two huge expansions, which will be premium (in other words, you'll have to pay for them).
The first is called Hearts of Stone, in which players will visit a dangerous-sounding place called"No Man's Land" as well as Oxenfurt. We must tackle the mysterious "Man of Glass" challenge and this will be no easy feat; the designers say this expansion will offer about 10 hours of entertainment. The second expansion will provide us with twice the number of hours, believe it or not.
That one is called Blood and Wine and it'll introduce an all-new region called Toussaint. CD Projekt Red says it's a "land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret." We'll also be able to find new equipment and fight new enemies.
Hearts of Stone will be ready in October, while Blood and Wine is slated to arrive during the first quarter of 2016. If you like, you can purchase both ahead of time by nabbing the Expansion Pass, although we don't yet have pricing details. "We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we'd like to bring that back. We've said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for the money. Both our expansions offer more hours of gameplay than quite a few standalone games out there.
While we're offering the Expansion Pass now, we want to make one thing clear: don't buy it if you have any doubts. Wait for reviews or play The Witcher and see if you like it first. As always, it's your call."

So a game that's meant to be over 200 plus hours they want people to further increase that time with new dlc ? Ok 200 hours who will buy it right away if the games that massive plus one isn't available until next year again my question is who will buy that ? If the game sucks and I don't want it to I'd love this to be a great game but everyone will go no thanks not for me.
Does this mean as well the 16 free pieces will be smaller dlc like item of clothing or new weapons etc.

Big turn off, probably the game it's only 200 hours if you buy all the dlc.
i suppose that was always coming its standard procedure these days and yeah @Oxvial it might mean that i might well be

I hate it but true, still I'm also getting this and MKX another with awful procedures of dlc characters :(, I miss unlockeables.
