If you're old enough and you were a console gamer back in the late '90s, you remember PlayStation Underground.
It was a video magazine that spawned a series of demo discs (I think I still have a few), and it offered gamers early glimpses at the best the PlayStation world had to offer.
Now, it's back: As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , PlayStation Underground will return in the form of a new online show. As you might expect, they'll feature game previews and interviews with some of the industry's "best and brightest." Developer Harmonix has kicked things off, giving us an inside look at the upcoming reboot of Amplitude .
Can't wait to see what's in store for the new Underground down the road!
In the 90's, I thought Playstation Underground was the coolest thing since sliced bread. It's funny to say now, but there was nothing like it at the time and I looked forward to every edition. I still have some of the discs somewhere around the house.
I will definitely check out the new site.
Remember opening the white envelope and the excitement of playing all those demos?
Oh man those were the times.
PlayStation Uncharted was amazing. It's where I first started to care about the people who actually made the games and learned who David Jaffe and a lot of the PlayStation bigs were. I loved how they only played on PlayStation too, so you had to be part of the club to see it. Will be checking this out.
PlayStation Underground*
Typing on my PS4 controller. Must have selected the wrong word.
Only True 90s kids know about PlayStation Underground.
I loved PlayStation Underground. I purchased multiple discs and those demos were so fun back in the day. I remember playing them time after time. It's a shame it stopped being a thing but I'm ecstatic that it's coming back. I will support them and I hope everyone else will.
I don't know anything about PlayStation Underground, this is the first time I heard about it, what a shame…
Those demo disks! Loved them.
I loved Amplitude and Frequency. Glad to hear it's making a comeback.
