With 58 reviews counted, Bloodborne currently holds a Metascore of 93 .
That's pretty damn impressive. We haven't seen a game score this well since Grand Theft Auto V (and no, I'm not counting remasters and re-releases).
But the next game that has a chance of scoring even higher is probably The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . Given the supreme amount of hype and anticipation surrounding this mammoth title, I honestly think a lot of gamers are expecting mid-9s. The question is, will it – or will any game in 2015 – outscore From Software's excellent effort? The critics might be biased toward hard games but that's only a theory…
What are you expecting in terms of scores for CD Projekt Red's RPG? Do you think it'll come down to Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 for Game of the Year 2015? Or will even better titles land at the end of the year? We won't get Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , remember, but we will get games like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain , and nobody should sleep on MGS. Not ever. We also have to consider Batman: Arkham Knight (June 23) and E3 might open our eyes to more potential masterpieces.
What say you?
Related Game(s): The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Though my GOTY is Bloodborne, I believe that Batmans gonna win. Don't know why, but I got a feeling VGAs is going to make Batman get GOTY.
Witcher 3 has a bad vibe to it…I can't explain why I feel like its going to be bad. I could be wrong though and I really hope I am wrong since I am spending money on it. Bloodborne though is undefeatable to me. GOTY2015
Have you played 1 or 2?
There's no such thing as bad or average in the Witcher.
Apart from maybe one of the books.
Sadly I never played the first two since they didn't come to PS3, I'm crossing my fingers that the third will be a strong enough on its own to hold my interest because it looks fantastic.

I bought bloodborne two days ago and still haven't had the time to play it much. I think metal gear solid 5 will win game of the year, any game that comes out the same year as a metal gear has terrible luck. Hideo kojima is a force to be reckoned with and this game will be the best yet, i can't wait!
There's a good chance it might, still, I believe it's either Arkham Knight or MGS5 that's gonna be the highest rated game of 2015.
Man, I can't believe MGS5 is not getting the same hype MGS4 had.
Is it because it's no longer a PS exclusive?
Yes it's also a multiplat so X-Box sites gonna score him a bit higher in order to make Bloodborne less spectacular and that X-Box only owners aren't missing much, still I'm 100% sure I'm gonna be a lot more entertained with Bloodborne.
It honestly could because it should have a better story, and game play should be more accessible / mainstream than Bloodborne.
I'm more interested in Arkham and MGS5 than The Witcher, even though I think Witcher will review better than Batman.
GOTY might be MGS bc it's Kojima's last, unless it turns out so bad.
I think the only games that could threaten Bloodborne for GOTY are Metal Gear Solid V and Batman. Nothing else will come close imo.
Had the game since release and i'm still struggling with the bosses, blood starved beast i think this ones called. It's tough as nails but oh so satisfying.

Throw one of the pungent cocktails that distracts beast and you can get a free visceral attack from behind by charging R2 and then hitting R1. But you have to be behind it.
This does huge damage. Alternatively you can parry its attacks with your gun then follow up with a Visceral attack.
Thanks Xenris, i will that a try and see how it goes.
Let me know how it went!
I'm okay if Witcher 3 scored better than bloodborne, that's mean more great game for us the gamers to play…
I think Witcher 3 will score high, but not as high. I think it will struggle with clinging on to the 90 as the reviews keeps rolling in, ending up somewhere between 88-90.
hmm yeah interesting point there ben will be intereting to see how this all pans out by years end or even just the next few months how all the scores turn out mostly out of curiousity
happy gaming
Wow 93 after 58 reviews. That's going to be hard to beat.
I don't know if it wil outscore Bloodborne. The Witcher looks great from what I've seen though, and if it, MGS and Batman end up great, then Uncharted comes in great right after, it will finally feel like this gen is hitting its stride.
That's true but Witcher isn't really a part of this stride. It was going to come out anyway regardless of whether or not PS4/X1 needed killer games 😀
And it would inevitably end up great. PC boys.
Something hitting it's stride is an idiom. It's not meant to be taken literally. But even so, the Witcher 3 was designed for PC and PS4/X1 from the beginning, and it is coming out for consoles. So how is it not part of the new console generation? Just because the first game was PC exclusive doesn't mean the whole series belongs to PC. The second was also on 360 and the first was planned for consoles. The only reason it was cancelled was because a check didn't arive on time or something like that.
I think Bloodborne and The Witcher are obviously going to be going head to head for RPG of the year, and I honestly don't know which one will win.
If the Witcher 3 delivers on all its promises then I think it will beat out Bloodborne, but just by a little.
But we have Batman, and MGS5 coming out, so we have 4 huge game of the year contenders and honestly I don't think anyone can say who will get it.
All 4 games are technically openworld, even Bloodborne although it is the least in terms of how much freedom you have.
I don't know, what I do know is that this years is going to be an excellent year for games even if only those 4 games released that would be enough to keep gamers busy for a solid year or more.
Why is everyone so obsessed with Metacritic? A game like BloodBorne isn't as accessible to the masses as The Witcher 3 or MGS 5 or Halo 5 will be. I'm convinced most sites put the "From Software" fans on the reviews of BloodBorne, so that kind of skews the review scores. Much how most racing games are reviewed by all the gear heads of the industry. Forza and Gran Turismo could get 10's across the board, doesn't mean I will enjoy them. Regardless, a metacritic average shouldn't be the main metric when deciding game of the year.
I'm puttin all my money and hopes in it.
I really want to play this game but I don't have the time to invest into a singleplayer epic like this.
My sons want to play together (think Destiny and Elder Scrolls) as a family and I would rather do that anyway.
