Okay, so you probably never think about it.
But those disgusting sounds heard during brutal Fatalities have to come from somewhere, right? And they're not all created by fancy next-level audio equipment.
Mortal Kombat X developer NetherRealm's latest "Kombatcast" offered a bunch of new information for the upcoming fighting extravaganza. They also dove into how they recorded certain sounds for the game; the discipline is called "foley work" and you've got to be pretty inventive. In this case, the designers used a toilet plunger to create certain sounds, which kinda fits (think about it for a second). They also smashed a bunch of fruits and vegetables with hammers, which must've been just plain fun.
The team talks about several advancements they've made in this new effort, so it's well worth checking out. Mortal Kombat X is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 14. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions (in development at a separate studio) have been delayed until summer.
