Having Some Difficulty With Bloodborne? Adjust Your Insight

Bloodborne is one tough game.

However, you can make things easier on yourself despite the fact that there's no visible difficulty level.

As discussed at Reddit , your Insight level dictates the difficulty of the foes you face. It seems that once you pass 15, enemies become much more forbidding; keeping Insight below 15 will make your adventure that much easier. Said one Reddit user:

"With 14 and 27 insight there was a noticeable difference in the two monsters i tested in Cathedral Ward.

Lantern guy gained eyeballs on his lantern and he now casts a ranged Spell. Sycthe guy gains an enchantment on his Scythe that burns you."

Don't consider it cheating. Just consider it a boon if you're ready to tear your hair out. No word yet on whether or not the tougher versions of these monsters drop more Blood Echoes or better items, or something…maybe try it out for yourself.

Better drops would be nice but I have enough reward with the enemies do different things.

The Arcane stat helps with droprate and people have confirmed you can get SICK stuff from the "Root" chalice dungeons ranging from alt. versions of the majority of weapons including rarer ones like the Chikage Katana and the dual wield Blades of Mercy. You can also find rare upgrade material someone last night discvered a dungeon with Blood Rock which you need to make any weapon +10.

Also meanwhile after hearing this, I was already sitting at 38 insight + like 18 Skulls in reserve I tried out the item dupe glitch to bump myself up to 99 insight! XD and I am still doing just fine. I don't think there is a noticeable increase after 15.

PS. high insight is REQUIRED to progress in side stories which you need to get the alternate third and true ending.

You need something like a minimum of 40 I believe.

Also don't be scared with me mentioning a dupe glitch I can confirm it is nowhere near as bad as the Dark Souls 1 variant especially with the way the game is set up now with item leveling and PVP matchmaking. Worst you will find is someone with a +10 weapon.
It only works on stackable consumable items and you of course have to acquire them so you would likely already know where to go to farm them. The "trading" in Dark Souls 1 really made the short lived dupe glitch a nightmare for early PVP areas but I don't see this one being that major of an issue due to the player actually having to acquire the potentially rare items to begin with and should be patched soon hopefully.

This is true, but not accurate. Enemies only in Cathedral Ward behave this way where as other locations see no boost in difficulty. This is from my experience and I'm well into the game. But this insight thing needs further testing because there are only theories at the moment.

Sort of inaccurate it has been tested and confirmed the higher your insight the more Frenzy has an affect on you and the lower your Beasthood damage, no one is sure of any positives yet but there must be some besides seeing new enemies and gaining access to new areas.
