Sony Ending Online Support For MLB 14: The Show In June

If you're not planning to upgrade to the latest version, don't expect to keep playing online.

Sony has confirmed that it will discontinue online support for last year's MLB 14: The Show across all platforms. As of June 18, you will no longer be able to play games online with the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, or Vita.

This hasn't gone over well with some Reddit users , who say 13 months isn't enough support for last year's title. Sure, MLB 15: The Show will be out well before it happens but even so, it's sort of forcing baseball fans to upgrade or else. Well, provided they have any interest in playing online.

By the way, the information was gleaned from the PlayStation UK site, but it's likely support will end in the US around the same time (if not on the exact same day). If you're wondering, MLB 15: The Show will launch for PS4, PS3 and Vita on March 31. For more, check out our in-depth preview .

Not even a year and a half of support for a game people payed full price for. Total BS.

I couldn't care less about the game itself, but shutting off online after just one year is just crazy and a very ugly tactic by Sony.

Well that a pretty messed up thing to do… Could've atleast held online functions for another year
On another subject, Ben did you see all the news buzzing about Hideo Kojima leaving Konami after he's done with MGS5… From what I've been reading it looks like Kojima and Konami had a fallout

This is pretty poor form on Sony's part – a title with online should have at least a couple of years' support unless it's completely ignored by consumers. Here's hoping there's enough of a backlash that they stand down. Presumably there aren't too many using it online at the moment, but if that's the case, it'll hardly be using a whole server farm either.

Not enough people playing online for sony to justify keeping the servers running. Probably didn't help the fact that the game might of not even sell well. Nobody I know with a ps4 plays baseball games at least.
