Sony Files Another Trademark For The Last Guardian…Why?

And the merry-go-round continues.

Earlier this year, we learned that Sony had let the trademark for The Last Guardian expire. Later, it was designated a mistake and the trademark was renewed.

Now, as of March 12, yet another trademark has been filed for a "Last Guardian" game and it's currently pending approval. As spotted by a NeoGAF member, the filing is legitimate and could be encouraging for those who are still holding out hope for the project. Sony swears it's still in development, but who knows how far along it is…after six years, one would hope it's going along just fine.

Unfortunately, everything we hear about the troubled development says otherwise.

At least it's no worse than Rockstars Agent… Possibly worst game announcement ever. We've got nothing but a logo for it lol.

I'm starting to see where Sony's coming from with this… just think, the game that could have been. Or depending on where you're from, the game that coulda had was.

We need something sweet from Sony like a least a new video proving they aren't bullsh*tting. I really don't think they are, but I'm beginning to have some doubts.

A new gameplay video is in order Sony.

As far as I'm concerned, any news about The Last Guardian is good news. Unless that news is that it's cancelled…

Seriously though, Sony need to admit that this game has been cooking long enough, and start giving gamers a little bit of a look at what it's currently like. Even a trickle of information is better than this dam that they have up. I mean, it was officially announced what, six years ago? And it's been in development for ten. Enough is enough. We need something.

Dropping "the"? I'm guessing we will see a brief PSN title hoping to equal Journey's experience that debuts with a debt of $100 million to pay off.

Next time, create game plan, then release game. Don't create game without knowing where it's going.

Based on gamer reactions to current games, I think… I know the gaming community has changed and is less diverse. Yep, just my opinion from what I have seen and read.

I do not think this game, if it comes out, will ever be embraced by the audience OR the critics. Only a few… a happy few will.

I wish them luck if it eventually comes out, but I admit my enthusiasm and excitement for this game has left me. :/

Keep playing!
