Developer Visceral Games is new to the Battlefield franchise but they might want to stick around after Hardline is out the door.
Creative director Ian Milham tells VideoGamer that while nothing is written in stone, "there's a lot more gold in those hills in terms of the thematic possibilities and all the stuff we could do." He says any developer would like the chance to "double down on something successful" but right now, publisher EA hasn't made any official announcements concerning the future of the series:
"I don't know if we would ever formalise it," he continued. "And there was no formal, 'Okay, now you guys are going to trade off every other year making Battlefield games with DICE.' I don't know what the future holds. This was sort of a thing that seemed a cool possibility for us to do and yeah, we'd like to make more if it works out."
Milham added that there's a huge amount of potential with this IP because they could embrace any number of settings and styles. In other words, if fans are interested in seeing more variation – like the SWAT structure in Hardline – Visceral might be just the team to deliver that diversity:
"You could do Battlefields in almost any era, fiction or tone and they would really hold together in something cool. So I think the future is possible. Not only would our studios have their own personalities, but it's not like we can only make two [types of Battlefield]. Maybe DICE makes a spin-off of a spin-off and we make another spin-off of a spin-off. I don't know, there could be all kinds of different Battlefields as far as I'm concerned."
Here's hoping the new Battlefield does well; it'll launch on March 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I kind of want it to, and then again I don't want it to. If it sells well enough, they won't be returning to dead space anytime soon :/.
The Hardline beta was alright. I think it's still too similar to BF4, which I've put an insane amount time into.
I think I'm just going to wait for Rainbow 6.
well idk but i'd like them to stuff around with battlefield too much as what they need to do is completely make up for the shambles of BF4 with an amazing BF5 that works from day one alteast like Bf3 did other wise its a slap in the face to battlefield fans in my opininon.
and with @big6 ur comment in mind i think the new rainbow 6 looks way better than hardline and really hardline needed to be its own thing
happy gaming
None of this game interests me at all.
Don't know why. Seems very 2010…
