PC gamers are probably quite familiar with the Wasteland IP.
But console players might not have played the original classic that first launched in 1988, and maybe they didn't play the long-awaited sequel that recently debuted on PC.
That's okay, though, because a special Game of the Year Edition is coming to PlayStation 4 in "late summer." As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , Wasteland 2: Game of the Year Edition is a hardcore RPG where you control four Desert Rangers (along with any followers you recruit) in a bid to keep the peace in a post-apocalyptic Arizona desert.
This involving, in-depth experience offers "deep character building, an engrossing game world, a branching story and reactivity from games like Fallout , and tactical turn-based combat in the vein of XCOM: Enemy Unknown ." For this GotY Edition, the developers have ported the game to Unity 5, the latest version of the "highly versatile game engine." This has allowed them to give us improved character models, upgraded environments, and some new visual effects.
It should be great for those seeking a robust, rewarding experience.

Game of the Year?… I've never even heard of it… This is why the industry needs a proper gaming award season.
That probably means you are a console gamer. It made quite the waves in the PC gaming world last year and collected a solid metascore of 80.
I played the first one on the Commodore 64, back in '88 and it was great. I've been waiting for a sequel. I guess I can wait a little longer and get it on the PS4, instead of getting it now on the PC.
This is a turn-based RPG, Ben! I would have thought you'd be a bit more excited? 🙂
Great!!!! I can't wait to play this on my PS4
Unfortunately it makes almost as many bad old-school design choices as it does good ones. It's a terrific game anyways, but it really helps you appreciate all the good changes the industry has made.
Hehe – I agree!
yeah can't say i'd heard of it but its sounds like an interesting game, sorta reminds me a bit of a group style PoE(path of exile) its an interesting take on that type of game
happy gaming
