Bloodborne Boss Darkbeast Will Put A Crimp In Your Day

So, here's one of the bosses you'll have to face in Bloodborne …scared yet?

Developer From Software has released a few new images of a boss called Darkbeast. He's bound to make your adventure that much more challenging.

Darkbeast, as you can see in the picture here, is an electrified monster comprised of giant skeletal remains. The lightning in his body causes him to move erratically, which is bound to frustrate the player. Said SCE Japan Asia Pr Manager Yasuhiro Kitao:

"Just like in Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne will feature many boss enemies of all shapes and sizes, and there will be a variety of ways to defeat them. So I think you will find that the gameplay in Bloodborne is rich and diverse."

And hard. Darkbeast looks like a serious pain in the ass but for those who relish the challenge, they're already drooling. The PlayStation 4 exclusive in question will launch on March 24 in the US and three days later in the UK.

I was excited for this game as someone who never got into the souls series. But I'm more interested in the coop and I never realized how much of a hindrance it was to play with friends. I know most people play it for the sp and that's probably what the developers want, not having played I don't really know. But if you implement coop I just feel like it should be more seamless, and not structured around getting a some quick help then forcing the players to disband.

Either way the game looks excellent. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll get it at this point and I'll miss out on more greatness from, From Software. But with The Handsome Collection releasing the same day I have to make a choice. I never got to play through the pre-sequel so I'm itching to play it more.

It's actually pretty easy to summon a friend in a game. As long as you guys were near 10 lvls of one another and placed your summon sign in the appropriate place, coop was a piece of cake. Yes there is no online game lobby which would make things easier and I think they do that for the sake of atmosphere which works strikingly well in my opinion.

Not sure how coop will work in-game for Bloodborne, but the old way worked. But I keep hearing about the seperate actual coop arenas which might have game lobbies. I think if there is a separate coop thing, then yes lobbies are a must.

It's pretty unclear to me to. People keep talking about the chalice dungeons as of that's where you can play coop. But is that a separate mp arena or is it part of the main game, where only there can you play coop? Furthermore can you play coop in the main game if the chalice dungeon is separate? It's all unclear.

What I do know is yes the summoning seems very easy. But it doesn't summon friends or others to your location. Only into the area you are at. Second when you defeat a boss it automatically disbands the party. So to continue to play together you must re-summon friends after every boss encounter. But it gets even more cloudy here. Can you summon friends or other players at anytime?

There's just too much that's unclear and that doesn't make me excited haha. I have no doubt the game will be good. But when games are difficult I really enjoy sharing that experience with friends.

Man I know what you mean. Alot of things are not explained well in these games which leads to online research and discovery!!! Strangely enough, this is a very appealing trait for the game in my opinion lol

Unfortunately I've found nothing to answer these questions. But I'm sure right after release there will be answers.

@Bigrailer
If you know for a fact you are getting Bloodborne may I suggest the Future Press strategy guide off Amazon. It is put together by EpicNameBro the famous Souls Youtuber who has now been working for Futurepress the past few years and was also in charge of the Dark Souls 2 strategy guide. If this guide is anything like the last which it appears it will be it will be utterly gorgeous.
The Dark Souls 2 strategy guide had a gorgeous hardcover and was over 350pages long I got it for $30 at Gamestop and it looks as if it should have been a lot more the damn thing is Big and Heavy with amazing artwork.

The Wiki's will end up of course being more complete eventually but for the first few weeks the guide was invaluable and allowed me to help many others on sites such as Gamefaqs who were completely stumped. But I still found the guide useful even after the Wiki's were fully fleshed out if I just needed to quickly look up an item and didn't want to bother breaking away from the game to do so.

Also this time around the Bloodborne strategy guide will contain an exclusive PS4 dynamic theme which can only be obtained by getting the guide and it is at a large discount during the preorder period right now.

I know I am straight up advertising the guide but the Dark Souls 2 guide just impressed me that much after not having bought any since the PS2 era.

I wont play this game. The fact that if you die you can lose all of your equipment is not my idea of fun. I get enough stress from work and the old lady. 🙂

That has never been a thing in a Souls game and I have heard no word of this mechanic in Bloodborne.

What usually happens when you die is your armour gets damaged, you revert to a hollowed form with slightly less health and power which also prevents you from summoning aid, and the biggest penalty was losing all of your Souls which is not only the game's currency but also the material used to level yourself and items.

The losing Souls bit has been confirmed except they are not called Souls anymore they are called Blood Echoes and this time around instead of simply leaving a Bloodstain on the ground the enemy who killed you may decide to absorb your essence and you will not be able to get your Blood Echoes back unless you can successfully kill the beast which had previously killed you.

Looks like polygonal nightmare. What a great example of where you can take the ambitions and art direction when you have more hardware power at your disposal.

This is probably just the tip of the iceberg too when it comes to the bosses in the game. Looking as slick as ever, counting down those days.

I love the art direction in these games, but the loss of souls every time you die seems to make them more frustrating than fun.
I like a bit of a challenge, but usually it's a good idea to implement at least one other difficulty level so the target demographic isn't so limited.
